  Had a surgical procedure through the Iowa Clinic-Urology. I called my insurance before hand to verify if it would be covered, and it was not. When making the appointment, I informed the Clinic registration staff that this would be private pay as my insurance would not cover it. I asked for what the total cost of the procedure and any further incurred costs would be. Informed $750 (Ish) out of pocket costs. This is manageable so I scheduled the appointment. Received a bill a month after the procedure and was billed for $1,400 (ish). Called the billing department and asked for an itemized bill (since they don't send one with the bill). The procedure itself was now $1,250.00 with a couple additional charges. Why was this not disclosed when I called and informed them that this would be private pay and not through insurance? Blind billing is a scam. This clinic has horrible practices for upfront pricing and transparency. After speaking with the billing department, I am stuck with the full bill even though the staff failed to inform me correctly of the accurate pricing. I will not be coming back to this clinic or utilizing the Iowa Clinic for any further healthcare. I recommend nobody else does either. They cannot be transparent in their pricing when asked. Very untrustworthy.

  I just spoke with the most AMAZING/professional/kind human. Brianna, a receptionist at the Iowa Clinic Urologist center. She was so polite and thoughtful…answered all of my questions and was so empathetic ❤️ You need a raise!!! IC, is lucky to have humans like you 😊

  Desk staff were helpful and friendly. Check in nurse friendly and caring. Doc came in, barely liked at me, refilled my prescription and bolted. Why am I forced to make an appointment, wait for 3 months, take time off work and drive across town to get a refill and have my concern immediately dismissed? Tired of paying to see Doctors that spend 2 minutes and provide zero answers.

  I was nervous taking my mom here after reading the reviews. She had an appointment yesterday - the front office staff was wonderful and so friendly. We sat in the waiting room for maybe 10 minutes before being called back. Dr. Meyer came in to see her after maybe another 10 minutes. Explained things to her and had a GREAT bedside manner!! I think total time we were there was 45 minutes! Not sure if staff has changed since the last poor reviews but I would highly recommend this place.
