- SSSharodDec 2, 20255.0You need to refer all or at least the vast majority of concussion patients to a neuro-optometrist, not a regular optometrist. Standard eye exams don’t check the concussion-related visual issues (convergence, fixation, oculomotor control) that most patients have. If the goal is truly to help people recover, this referral change is essential.
