  I had Lasik surgery twenty years ago, but my vision in recent years had become increasingly farsighted with early stage cataracts, not eligible for insurance reembursement for cataract surgery and additional Lasik surgery being problematic. In consultation with Dr. Portis, we decided to undergo refractive surgery, essentially similar to cataract surgery with lens replacement. My vision is now completely restored, and I am very happy with all aspects of my medical treatment from Dr. Portis and his medical support staff. Dr. Portis talked clearly and openly about all aspects of my surgery, answering all questions and describing his thinking process behind his recommendations. I felt no pressure to do the surgery or follow any other recommendation, but I was provided all necessary information to make an informed decision. Surgery and followup were all carried out professionally and competently, and the results are perfect, in my happy opinion. I could not be more satisfied with my experience with Dr. Portis and the results of my surgery.

  I was recommended to Dr. Portis by a family member who spoke very highly of him after undergoing LASIK surgery in his care years ago. Dr. Portis was indeed greatly informative and patient, answering any questions that I had in mind and being very friendly throughout. I recently decided that it was my turn to get LASIK with him, and the procedure was as quick and easy as the recovery afterwards. I can say with personal confidence that Dr. Portis and his team are not only incredibly pleasant to work with, but also extremely skilled. Waking up in the morning and now being able to see the time on my clock without the use of contacts or glasses is a little thing in life, but it gives me a smile every time.

  I was very pleased with my experience at Sugiki Portis Eye Center. My visits and treatments with Dr. Jon Portis were a world away from previous experiences elsewhere. It was good to be treated with professionalism, compassion, and care. Dr. Portis and his staff made me feel that I was in safe hands. Dr. Portis spent extra time with me to methodically and accurately diagnose my eye condition. He was the only doctor who listened to me and was able to resolve my vision issues. He gave me hope! The front office, technicians, and surgery center staff members were so friendly and caring, and always made me feel welcome and at ease. This was the best team of medical staff I have been around. The appointment and insurance coordinators were so efficient from presenting treatment plans to scheduling procedures with pre and post-op appointments. It was apparent they all work together well. The waiting and examination rooms were impeccable. Dr. Portis is an avid photographer, and the walls were maticulously decorated with stunning pictures of amazing animals from all parts of the world. I am so grateful for Dr. Jon Portis and his great team. I highly recommend this office.

  Dr. Portis has been my eye care physician for 15 years. Each and every year I enjoy visiting the office because I know that he will provide the best possible care for my eyes. I trust him completely and would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone seeking quality eye care.

  Dr Jon Portis & the staff at Sugiki Portis Eye Center are the best! Every time I've had a problem (scratches, inflamation, etc) they've always been so accommodating and able to fit me into their busy schedule. They're very professional, courteous, compassionate & provide excellent patient care to myself & my family. In my case, I have a unique condition and I value that my physician finds ways to provide me the best sight I can possibly achieve, research options & new innovations, give me feedback on the benefits of his research & actually shares what he thinks would be the best for me.
