  I’ve had such a wonderful experience at David Lloyd and couldn’t recommend it enough. From the moment I joined, everyone has been incredibly welcoming, helpful and professional. A special thank you to Harry, who gave me my initial tour and made the whole process so easy. He took the time to explain everything in detail, answered all my questions thoroughly and has always been quick to respond whenever I’ve had any queries. His friendly and approachable attitude really made me feel comfortable from the start. The instructors have also been absolutely amazing. Louise’s Pilates classes are fantastic — she is so knowledgeable and attentive, always making sure movements are done safely and offering adaptations depending on individual ability, injuries or how your body is feeling that day. She creates such a supportive environment where you feel encouraged rather than pressured. Kasia’s yoga classes have been equally brilliant. She brings such a calming and positive energy while still challenging you. I really appreciate how she focuses on technique, listens to people’s needs and provides adjustments or alternatives so everyone can get the most out of the session. A huge mention as well to Nicole and Jake for Blaze — their classes are full of energy and motivation. They push you to challenge yourself but are also mindful of different fitness levels and make sure you feel supported throughout. Their encouragement makes even the toughest sessions enjoyable! The facilities themselves are always clean, well looked after and a pleasure to use. The reception team are consistently friendly, approachable and always happy to help with anything. The kitchen and café staff are also fantastic — always busy making sure everyone is looked after, whether that’s serving delicious food inside, bringing orders out to the outdoor pool area or helping guests enjoy the outdoor seating spaces. Overall, it’s not just the facilities that make David Lloyd special, it’s the people. The staff genuinely create a welcoming community and make every visit something to look forward to. ❤️

  My wife & I recently visited David Lloyd for a tour and were shown around by Luke who provided an excellent overview of the club, its facilities & classes. Its a really impressive club, with newly updated sauna and loads of classes to choose from. Luke was really helpful with the membership options, with no pressure to join, allowing space for us to consider joining. Thanks Luke & look forward to seeing you at DLG.

  Harry was excellent from start to finish. He was very friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable, and immediately put us at ease. He took the time to ask questions about what we were looking for rather than giving a standard tour, which meant he could tailor everything to our needs. I was particularly impressed that when I mentioned I have POTS, he took the initiative to research my condition and explained which facilities and activities would be most suitable. That extra level of care and attention made a real difference and showed that he genuinely wanted to help us get the most from our membership. Harry is a real credit to David Lloyd. His professionalism, knowledge and personalised approach made the whole experience enjoyable and gave us confidence that we were making the right decision.

  We recently joined David Lloyd York and wanted to say a huge thank you to Luke for making the whole experience so welcoming, professional and enjoyable from start to finish. Luke took the time to understand what we were looking for, answered all of our questions with genuine enthusiasm and made us feel valued from the moment we arrived. There was absolutely no pressure, just great advice, excellent knowledge of the club and a real commitment to helping us make the right decision. His friendly, personable approach and attention to detail made joining an easy choice. He is a real credit to David Lloyd and played a big part in why we decided to become members. Thank you again, Luke. We are excited to be part of the club and look forward to making the most of our membership. Highly recommended.

  Visited David Lloyd over the weekend while visiting family in the area. My partner has a membership at another branch and I attended using a guest pass. With the weather being so warm, we thought it would be a nice place to relax for the day and make use of the spa facilities. The facilities themselves are okay overall, but definitely not to the standard you would expect considering the prices David Lloyd charge for memberships. The family changing rooms in particular could do with being cleaned much more regularly. There was a noticeable lack of upkeep and cleanliness throughout the time we were there, which immediately took away from the “premium” experience the brand advertises. What really disappointed us, however, was the handling of the spa access. One of the main reasons we chose to come was to use the spa facilities, only to then be told upon arrival that they were reserved for “York members only” for three months. This was never made clear beforehand and felt incredibly misleading. If certain facilities are restricted, especially facilities heavily used in marketing and promotions, this should be communicated properly before people travel and pay to attend. It honestly felt quite embarrassing standing there being told certain areas were effectively off limits despite attending as paying guests through a valid membership. The explanation given was vague and came across more like a way to brush people off than an actual customer-focused policy. For a company that promotes luxury, wellness and customer experience so heavily, the whole visit felt underwhelming and poorly managed. Staff seemed uninterested in resolving concerns and there was very little effort made to offer alternatives or even acknowledge the frustration caused. Unfortunately, this experience has definitely put us off returning to this branch in future.
