  Decided to buy a nicer pair of glasses rather than a cheaper pair online so went to VE in Tesco Bathgate. My new prescription, from another optician, just didn’t seem right in the new glasses, so VE carried out another eye test and tweaked the prescription. Went to the store today to collect them but were no better. Advised me to wear them for a week which is hardly helpful when you’re driving with glasses that you can’t see properly with. Never had this in 30 years of wearing new glasses. However, I could have worked through the issues until we got it right but it was the staffs overall bedside manner that was the final straw. No pleasantries, understanding of the situation and acted if it really didn’t matter to them one way or another if they were right or not. I saw no reason to continue this process and decided to take them up on their 100 day return guarantee and asked for a refund there and then. I’ll take my £215 to Boots in future. There’s something not right in that store and it screams when you walk in. Very unimpressed.

  Great experience, friendly staff, staff was very helpful, guided me through what glasses are the best for me can’t recommend it enough.

  Wizyta nie była zbyt dobra. Miałem wrażenie, że jestem poganiany i moja wada wzroku jest inna, żeby tylko sprzedać mi okulary, z których jest mały wybór i są drogie. Niestety będę musiał zasięgnąć drugiej opini u innego okulisty.

  Totally overwhelmed at appointment eye test was fine but the picking the glasses was a disaster chose 2 pairs of glasses lady serving was rather pushy and didn’t explain very well, I asked for just the standard frames and lenses nothing fancy added but kept pushing for one of there eye care plans I think the lady serving me was still training which is fine but explaining everything without just assuming what I wanted would have been better another lady came over to help her put in the vouchers or to check the order and this is when I advised I just wanted everything standard nothing fancy only to have her look down her nose at me and make me feel un easy what do you mean you don’t want your lenses thinned down to the point it became apparent that I was being belittled and intimidated to select a eye care plan I said I need to go I can’t do this today again to be made feel like a bit of something on this lady’s shoe I got up and walked out service was appalling and I am reluctant to go back to order new glasses now
