New glasses were necessary - so an appointment to see the optometrist followed by collection of the glasses all in less than a month could not be bettered.

Eye test through to choosing glasses with Jessica was a seamless friendly experience. Glasses were pushed through early and delivered as expected.

I was impressed by the optometrist's expertise, professionalism and kind manner. She took care to explain the outcome of the tests clearly to me. The whole Specsavers service was efficient and well organised, even at one of the busiest times of the day.

I've always found the store staff to be helpful and professional but I feel they are let down by head office and their web site. There is a lack of information to help me select a suitable frame. This is not the fault of the store staff but head office. This is why I'm giving 4 stars not 5. But let me explain my reasons. I have a fairly strong prescription so I need to choose my frames carefully but the information I need is not on specsavers web site nor available to staff. Other web sites selling glasses do have such information so I'm not asking for anything impossible. I'd also like the web site to help me narrow down my choices which it doesn't to any noticeable degree. OK I can select men's glasses and metal frames but that still a selection of over 200 pages to look at. Why can't I filter by lens diameter, height, arm length, bridge width, sprung sides? All of that data is available on each page (mostly, sprung sides is not always clear). And why does the web site obscure the data so that even chatgpt can't help? Why isn't the frame weight listed like other companies do? 2yrs ago I had to invoke the 100 day guarantee because my new "best" glasses, £££ frame, sprung sides, super thin reactions, were over 10% heavier than my £15 set with standard lenses, a difference mostly down to the frame. Remade in a different frame and it was 10% lighter than the £15 set. Specsavers have discontinued this lighter frame so I have to go through the whole process again, going into store with my scales to weight frames that I think might work. Should a customer have to do this? Or should head office provide the frame weights? Even if only to the staff. And a tool to calculate lens weight would not go amiss either.

I gave a 10 because the entire process was seamless. From the moment I walked in, the staff was professional and welcoming. The eye exam was thorough, and I felt like the optometrist really took the time to explain everything clearly without rushing me. The team at the Chippenham branch is fantastic. They were incredibly patient while I was picking out frames and gave honest, helpful feedback. It’s rare to get such personalised service, and they made me feel like a valued customer rather than just another appointment
