Fantastic community leisure centre in New Malden, offering a gym, swimming facilities, group workout studios and more. Flexible memberships available, but non-members are also very welcome.
I would like to leave a review about the swimming lessons. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely negative.
The instructor was unable to find an approach to my child and, it seemed, did not even try. However, the most alarming issue was what happened during the lesson. My child fell face down into the water, was unable to stand up immediately, swallowed a lot of water, and became extremely frightened. Afterwards, he was even vomiting water.
What is most concerning is that neither the instructor nor the lifeguard present provided any assistance. Instead, we were told that this was “normal” and that children are given “free time.”
I find this attitude completely unacceptable, especially when it comes to children’s safety in the water. At the very least, I expected close supervision and an immediate response from the staff.
Such an experience can have lasting consequences — it may lead to a fear of water or even the development of a phobia in the future.
I cannot recommend these lessons.

I came today with my 22 months old son for the women session and I took the pushchair next to the pool, the safeguard said I'm not allowed and I told her to show me the policy of it,she said she can not as she can't leave the place and I told her to bring the manager, also she said she can't and I was told I'm rude,I didn't insulted her,I just raised my voice to her as she was not provided me with the policy, however after the session she waited for me and asked me if I want to speak to the manager and she brought the manager,I explained the manager the situation, she was still giving attitude and spoke over him, also the manager said that there is no sign or policy and is beacuse he said so I'm not allowed,I told him my son is only 22 months and I'm scared I could fall with him, however I saw he had no policy or sign to show me,only os because he said so I'm not allowed,I told him I'm not going to come anymore and he said thank you.
If you want to pay and be patronised this is the best place for it
