- JFJoanita FloydApr 6, 20265.0Personally I love Virgin active, I’ve been a member of the club in South Africa, Botswana and now London. Specifically the canary riverside. I love it. However the chlorine in the spa come and pool is overwhelming, bad for skin and overall burns eyes. The gym staff are supportive and sweet. I don’t know why it has such a bad reputation. My only wishes would be to update the locker rooms, use less chlorine and frequent the cleaning (if at all that’s why copious amounts of chlorine is being used for) and all in all update the tennis court it is almost summer. My favourite use of the membership is that I can use different facilities at different locations. I love the club however this is my honest review.

Alfie at reception was super helpful and friendly - his tour solidified my choice and I’m looking forward to my new membership.

The lift here is being used to store towels and cleaning equipment, if you want to use the lift you have to beg staff for a key — which is beyond a joke. I just asked to use the lift and instead gained an explanation as to why it’s full of towels, at the end of this boring operational exchange, still no lift… I have a labral hip tear and cannot use stairs. This gym is across 4 floors, and 8 sets of stairs.
