  Fabs and the team at Virgin Active Strand always go above and beyond. Such a great club! Today, I trained chest with the guys and then they bought a big platter of bagels for everyone! Such a great vibe here everyday. Would 10/10 recommend getting involved! 🙌 💪 🙂

  I had a fantastic experience at Virgin Active thanks to Yas at the reception desk. From the moment I arrived, Yas was welcoming, professional, and extremely helpful. She handled everything with a positive attitude and made me feel genuinely valued as a member. Her customer service was outstanding — friendly, efficient, and always with a smile. It’s rare to come across someone who creates such a warm and professional atmosphere at the same time. Yas is definitely a credit to the team and one of the reasons I enjoy visiting this club. Thank you, Yas, for your excellent service and kindness!

  Great fitness center! Very pleased with the visit. The pool is clean, the water is comfortable, and the lanes are always in good condition. The gym is spacious, and the equipment is modern. The staff is polite, and they explained and showed everything.

  Signed up for a year-long membership only to find mid-contract that my nearest club (Strand) has been moved to a higher tier, meaning I can no longer access it without paying more. Virgin Active’s position is that this doesn’t count as a change to my contract and I would have to resign into another year contract. To top it off, the Strand club is consistently dirty and poorly maintained. Not what you’d expect for the price point. Currently awaiting a response from their member services team. Would not recommend signing up until they sort out how they handle tier changes mid-contract.

  Paid for multi-club access. They took it away overnight. I joined Virgin Active specifically because my Multi Access membership gave me access to clubs near both my workplace and my family - specifically the Strand Branch is near my office. That was the whole point. Without it, the membership simply doesn't work for my life. With no advance warning whatsoever, I received an email on 1st May telling me that three clubs - Strand, Crouch End and Clapham - had been moved to a higher tier, effective that same day. I have now lost access to all three, and when I contacted Virgin Active to discuss this, I was told the only resolution was to pay an additional £28 per month. I find this deeply frustrating. The ability to access multiple clubs wasn't a perk - it was the entire basis on which I signed up and have been a member since July 2023. To have that significantly reduced overnight, with no notice period and no meaningful remedy offered, feels like a breach of the consumer rights I'm entitled to under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which protects against businesses making unilateral changes that materially reduce the service a customer contracted for. I will be making a formal complaint and I'm also seeking advice on my options. I'd encourage anyone considering a Multi Access membership to think carefully about whether Virgin Active will honour what you sign up for - because based on my experience, there is nothing stopping them from quietly reducing your access and asking you to pay more to get it back.
