For one of the most expensive private members' clubs in London, the way the Harbour Club Chelsea treats its members is genuinely shocking, particularly when children are involved.
Not only when an Instructor cancels the club only bothers to inform you once you have already arrived on site. No proactive call, no apology. Just a wasted journey and a disappointed child. For a club at this price point, that is unacceptable.
But even more, the rules imposed on young children using the tennis courts are absurd. They feel far less about kids experience or children having a good time but far more about protecting the courts themselves. Children learning tennis need space to play, move and make mistakes — not to be prevented by the instructors from playing because the management imposes tennis shoes to protect the court.... for 5 YEAR OLD KIDS!!!!.
Profitability is one thing. Treating members, and especially kids, as collateral damage to that goal is another. Members are entitled to expect basic communication, basic warmth, and a club that actually wants families there. Right now, the Harbour Club delivers none of those things consistently.
Deeply disappointing, and very hard to recommend to other families.

Just started at the Harbour club and so excited. The tour I had with Duncan was great, answered all my questions and was very helpful and friendly.
The actual site is absolutely gorgeous, I was taken by surprise so I live near and hadn’t seen the inside. It’s massive and has an amazing place to get work done which was a priority for me.
I was also shocked by how many classes were actively going on whilst I was walking around, it was cool. The gym floors it self wasn’t to busy which was nice to.

I am writing to complain about serious unprofessionalism I witnessed at the club. A member of staff was extremely rude to my friend who is a member at this club. She approached him in a very aggressive manner. I was shocked by the behaviour of the staff here. He later made a complaint to management but it seemed to fall on deaf ears. This isn't the only occurrence I have witnessed of poor staff behaviour which seems to be letting down the club.

I’ve generally had a positive experience at this club, which makes this incident all the more disappointing.
During a recent visit, I was approached mid-workout by a member of staff named Talita, who spoke to me in an aggressive and accusatory manner. I was told to “stop sneaking guests into the club” and instructed to either pay or leave. This came as a surprise, as my guests had already been properly booked in to use the club room and had signed in before later joining me in the gym. Which I had gone ahead and used while they remained in the restaurant.
I calmly explained the situation and made it clear I was more than willing to pay for any additional access if required. However, there was no attempt to first clarify the situation before making accusations, and the tone used was, in my opinion, completely inappropriate.
As a member who has always treated staff with respect, No level of respect was returned in this interaction. In this circumstance, members should be spoken to professionally and courteously.
I hope management addresses this, as this experience fell well below the standard I would expect from the club.

What a waste of money. The pool was fine if you went in the evening and the classes didn’t encroach on the availability of lanes in the main pool, otherwise be ready to bang the wall or whack your arms on the lane divider if you had to use the spa pool and share lanes. I Relocated overseas and was told my joining fee would not be returned for three years due to long waiting lists (same as other reviews here), yet a year prior, there was no waiting list when I joined nor was the cancelling policy clearly explained! But Why would they put you off from joining by telling you the truth about your fee not being returned?
The junior admin and sales staff should be replaced with more experienced, client experienced ones. I asked to speak to the manager about my cancellation refund and kept getting flogged off to different junior assistants who sounded like broken records repeating the same robotic line. It definitely felt like the intention was not to connect me to the manager.
This club no longer deserves the reputation it lives off, its hay-day is over and it’s just not worth the high price in my opinion.
The club could maybe reduce membership charges by limiting the wasteful towel availability to two per visit instead of the waste created by endless refreshing of the towel shelves. Sauna has weak steam in ladies changing room. There is musty smell in the shower and sauna areas. Showers often had empty sundries. I’ll be asking for my deposit back every year on anniversary until I get it.
