  Just wanted to leave a review for Sophie on reception and Joy in the spa at David Lloyd. Both are always so friendly, welcoming and genuinely helpful every time I visit. Sophie is brilliant on reception — always greets you with a smile and makes everything easy and professional. Joy in the spa is equally amazing and creates such a relaxing and positive atmosphere. It really makes a difference having staff who are so approachable and attentive, and they’re both a real credit to the club. Thank you both for always making the experience so enjoyable!

  Generally good Staff get a 5 star they are beyond accommodating Issue is the cleanliness which is due to clients Sauna outside is horrifically smelly of untreated thrush The level of chlorine in the indoor jacuzzi is at an eye wateringly asthma triggering levels It would be nice if we had controls if the outdoors jacuzzi bubbles as some of us don’t like the bubbles and would be nice to sit in quite longer Generally amazing But another issue is that so many people fully book classes and don’t turn up

  I initially had a great experience at David Lloyd in Speke but in Feb 2026 I was treated rudely by a staff member when valuable items had gone missing in the changing rooms, despite being locked in a locker. Some staff were helpful regarding this issue but one member of staff was rude to myself regarding the missing valuables. When I defended myself against her rudeness, I was then given a ban. A highly stressful situation was made worse by this staff member, not to mention the fact that I have a disability and this treatment was discriminatory, I was mocked for being distressed about missing valuables. I have since sent a letter to head office as advised by my solicitor but have received no response. Not a good club to join if you want to be treated with fairness and respect.

  While I am currently in communication with David Lloyd Speke regarding an ongoing complaint about inconsistent enforcement of their own policies, misinformation provided by staff, and a lack of accountability for staff conduct, I have been told by the club manager that they can override their membership cancellation policy to offer me an immediate termination of membership, without need to wait for the end of the 3 months notice period. This leaves me confused about what standards actually apply. Policies appear to be flexible when it suits the club (for example, to resolve a complaint), yet strictly enforced when it benefits them in other situations. This inconsistency undermines trust and raises serious concerns about fairness and transparency.

  I submitted a formal compliant a few days ago about inconsistent policy enforcement in this club, and finally received a responce. What is most concerning is how this was handled. The club acknowledged that, if my account of the December incident is correct, their staff acted outside of policy. Despite this, they declined to carry out any meaningful investigation, citing that records are not retained, forms are destroyed, etc. This effectively leaves members in a position where they are expected to follow staff instructions, but the club can later deny responsibility due to lack of evidence. At the same time, they rely strictly on policy to justify their actions and even warn of potential sanctions. There is a clear inconsistency here, both in how the rules are applied and how accountability is handled. Members should be able to rely on guidance given by staff without being placed at a disadvantage later. Unfortunately, this experience has significantly reduced my confidence in the club’s management and fairness.
