  I attended a tour of David Lloyds Hampton today and was met by a lovely lady called Shahd who showed me around and was very polite and informative and I ended up signing up for membership today. I am very happy with the service

  I would think hard about what you want out of this David Lloyd before joining. The changes since the gym renovation have made the gym practically unuseable for me. The layout has removed mat space and some of the better stretch machines. Both free weights section and the weight machines rarely have much space and commonly surrounded by groups of teenagers or "gym bros" making it quite a hostile environment for women. Weights are often left on machines or the bars on the squat racks too high for me to lift down. The clubhouse from about April to July gets taken over by groups of teens using it for revision groups, and the spa needs to ban phones to stop social media being played loud while you're trying to relax. However, if you want to join classes, there are a lot of dedicated instructors doing a great job here.

  Rian showed me around and made an excellent job of it. Explained everything very well and sold me the membership. Club very comprehensive with the Spa looking very tasty indeed. Looking forward to summer and the outdoor areas will come into their own. Thanks Rian.

  Was initially disappointed by the Hampton DL membership team who set up my membership incorrectly and so I was billed the wrong amount and did not have access to the benefits I should have had when I needed them. When I emailed them about it, it took nearly a week for a response which I think is unacceptable service for a premium gym. Trying to speed up the resolution, I discussed the issue with Rian at the desk and *his* service was excellent. He did everything he said he would, quickly, and then called and emailed to confirm everything was resolved. Was genuinely impressed by him going the extra mile to resolve an issue he didn't even create. Staff like Rian go a long way to maintaining/ restoring your credibility, so I hope you make him aware how valuable he is to your team!

  David Lloyd Hampton or Leisure Centre? What Am I Paying For? I am once again very disappointed with the way spa access is being managed at David Lloyd Hampton. This has been raised before, including in my previous review, and the response was the usual customer service script saying that the feedback had been shared with the Club management team for review. However, another weekend/bank holiday has passed and the spa gate was again open to everyone. As a result, the spa was overcrowded and the whole area looked and felt more like a public leisure centre than a premium private members’ club. This completely takes away from the relaxing spa experience that members are paying extra for. Another concern is that the spa pools had a very strong chemical smell, which made the experience unpleasant. It makes me wonder whether stronger chemicals are being used because the spa is so overcrowded and heavily used. Either way, it does not feel like the premium, relaxing environment that members are paying for. What is most frustrating is that this has been going on for years. If this is a known issue and members have complained before, why has no one taken the initiative to properly fix it? Why does it keep happening again and again, while members paying for premium or Platinum access are expected to accept the same generic response? As a Platinum member, I cannot even use a guest pass, yet spa access appears to be given too freely to others. It feels unfair to loyal members who are paying extra for benefits that are not being properly controlled or protected. I do not want another scripted reply saying this has been passed to management. I would like to see real action, consistency, and proper control of spa access. At the moment, the experience feels frustrating, unfair, overcrowded, and far below the standard expected from David Lloyd……I also did not mention the number of people tailgating, whether freely or with a member, on the occasions when the gate is “working”.
