I only joined the club in December and I already feel like I’ve been here years. The staff & members are so friendly and welcoming. Facilities are really good and it’s not as intimidating or as crowded as I expected. I’ve recently got into padel and I must give a shout out Giles. He’s a great coach and very approachable and helpful. The socials are really well organised and again attended by super friendly members and great fun is always had. I can’t rate the club highly enough.

Had such a great time at the taster session today! The whole experience was really enjoyable, relaxed and welcoming from start to finish. Giles was an excellent padel coach — friendly, patient and really encouraging, which made the session so much fun. You can tell he genuinely enjoys what he does and wants everyone to have a good time. I came away smiling and would definitely recommend it to anyone thinking of giving padel a try!

A friendly and accommodating padel coach, Giles is the best teacher in David Lloyd Club Gloucester. My second time to join the padel taster session and I enjoyed being with the group. We have fun and knowledge at the same time.

I’ve been a member for a few months now and whilst I love using all the facilities and I always have a great time either at the gym, tennis, or spa, there are small details that would complete the experience making it excellent rather than good. There is so much dust in the changing rooms. I don’t know how often they’re cleaned but floors are often full of dust and hair. Light fixtures could be wiped from time to time and even the top of the cupboards. You can see a very thick layer of dust there! Similar for gym corners and machines and mirror with hand palms on them! Second detail which is incredibly frustrating but rather easy to fix is service at the restaurant. Some ladies are very very slow; coffee takes 20 minutes to arrive at 8 am when there is barely anyone there. It’s also not nice when no one acknowledges you or smiles and says ‘I’ll be there with you in a minute’ but just walk past with a super grumpy expression. These are such small things but they leave an impression … and could be fixed. This is not a one off experience but every single time!
Third point is regarding the fitness coaches. There are a couple of coaches who pay zero attention to members. They just walk around with tablets, they don’t correct the members when technique is so obviously wrong… why would you even pay them to ‘inspire, motivate, or teach’ you something. Gym trainers should be full of energy, enthusiasm, and knowledge so that people want to sign up to their sessions … They should dedicate full attention to the member they are teaching!
