Fantastic community leisure centre in East Grinstead, offering a gym, swimming facilities, group workout studios and more. Flexible memberships available, but non-members are also very welcome.
As I was staying in the area, I visited for a lunchtime lane swim. There was plenty of space in the car park at that time of day and, perhaps because the weather was so good, the pool was rather quiet.
I booked on the app but not entirely sure why I bothered - the receptionist didn't even look up at me when I arrived, so I could have walked in for free. Perhaps some people do.
The changing rooms are quite a confusing layout, and I sense that at one point they were single-sex changing rooms that had been knocked into one "village" facility. There are plenty of cubicles and an incredibly large number of lockers, clean and working well. There doesn't appear to be any facility now or separate male and female changing, so a cubicle it was, although in a quiet corner it felt a bit like overkill.
The pool itself was sorted into double-width speed lanes, and that worked well. Pool surrounds clean, and easy to get in and out of. Temperature just right for lane swimming.
Showers are in between the changing area and the pool, and are open to all or in cubicles, so it needs to the latter if you want a proper shower - just make sure you don't pick one of the cubicles that is missing a door...
Generally speaking a good facility with only minor improvements needed, although I noted relatively few options for a swim in the evening hours.

I didn't really come here for the pool I came for roller skating so I can't really review this.

We wanted to take our 2 year old daughter to the soft play area and I was very angry and disappointed in what I saw , older kids that looked way to old to be in that small soft play area , they were being very rude , saying nasty things towards my 2 year old , throwing balls inappropriately and wouldn’t let her go on anything , my child was very upset as she was the only young child there and for the older kids to do that is horrible , the parents said nothing to their kids and looked like no one seem to care. We will not be going back.
