ALEX IS A STAR ⭐️
I came for a tour of the club during a quiet evening time and let me tell you, the pictures do not do this place justice! From the minute I walked in, I was greeted by a lovely blonde lady on the reception who was so warm and friendly. Then I met Alex, who conducted my tour of the facilities. Alex was phenomenal - I have truly never felt so engaged or enthralled by a gym until yesterday. His customer service skills, finesse, expertise and overall energy was absolutely perfect and highly commendable. He ensured that I was well informed, comfortable and made to feel welcome. It was so lovely to be treated with so much attention and care, I really felt like my experience was well tailored to me and not just a generic slap dash approach. His approach and attention to detail were fantastic and I am so pleased to be back at David Lloyd’s.
Thank you very much Alex once again and I truly hope you get the recognition you deserve for your fantastic work ethic.

I have been a loyal member of David Lloyd Coventry since 2018 and even added my spouse to my membership last year. Due to changing personal priorities, my wife decided not to continue using the club, so I simply requested to remove her from my account.
To my absolute shock, the club responded by telling me that removing my wife from the membership would increase my own membership cost by around 60%. How does removing one person from an attached membership justify such a massive increase in price? It makes absolutely no sense.
Instead of rewarding long-standing loyal members, David Lloyd Coventry appears to punish them with unfair and excessive pricing policies. The whole experience has felt misleading, unreasonable, and completely customer-unfriendly.
After years of membership, this is extremely disappointing and has completely destroyed my trust in the club. I will now be leaving and would strongly advise anyone considering joining to carefully compare alternative clubs in the area before committing to this one.

The club itself & facilities are lovely following a recent refurbishment, particularly the spa which is gorgeous. The cleanliness is much improved compared to a year or so back, it's now beautiful smelling and always clean. The staff are lovely. Experience with the personal trainers has been excellent. Highly skilled, committed & experienced. A real asset to the club. Swimming coach Mel is exceptional - really connects with the children & grows their water competence & confidence with her approach.
Biggest points of contention with David Lloyd as a whole is that it is such an unresponsive company - if you have an issue you are lucky to get a response to emails and when you speak to the lovely front desk team their hands are tied, as they report not being able to access any information beyond that which we can see as members. We have had issues with unexplained transactions on our account and have been attempting to get clarity & resolution on this for some time now, with no explanation for these unanticipated fees. We've tried escalating this - still to no avail, no solution in sight, which is very disappointing. To emphasise the front desk team themselves are great, this is more a reflection upon the complaints management at DL. The IT infrastructure is also dire & really lets the company down. The app frequently malfunctions / freezes / decides not to allow you to book your regular sessions at random.
The few times we have utilised crèche or DL kids they have had YouTube on, which isn't really the stimulation I'd expect my infant to be exposed to & isn't why I send my toddler to a class. Other DL kids classes have been great admittedly, so perhaps this was a one off occasion.
Finally food is poor in my opinion. I suspect pre-cooked - frozen then reheated, though I could be wrong. The wait for food and/or drinks at peak times is incredibly slow. The clubroom team are wonderful, friendly & warm but the perception I get is that the kitchen staff are either understaffed or very inefficient. Overall it could be great, but given the elite narrative David Lloyd seems to try and channel, it misses the mark in a lot of regards.

I have been a member of David Lloyd Coventry since 2023 and have always paid my membership annually in full. This year, I wanted to switch to a monthly direct debit option, but I was told this would require changing my tariff, resulting in a shocking 64% price increase.
I found this extremely unfair and unreasonable, especially for a loyal long-term member. Instead of supporting existing customers with flexible options, the club seems to penalise them financially.
Due to this experience, I will be leaving the club, and I would advise others to carefully compare alternative clubs before joining.

The David Lloyd Spa Gym in Coventry is the most racist and discriminative Spa Gym that I have ever registered for. I am not sure whether they are all the same or only the one located in Coventry. If you are Black, do not register for this Spa Gym. The discrimination from the White Employees and the Indian David Lloyd Spa Gym Members is astronomical. Considering the cost, the service provided is clearly not for us and neither do they want us to attend. I was severely burnt by chlorine because the chlorine levels in the Hot Tub were increased to a very high level forcing me to stop using the Hot Tub until they had complaints from other members which forced them to change all of the water. The Jacuzzi felt like acid. I should have taken them to Court but instead I ended my membership with The David Lloyd Spa Gym and disputed all of my money back through my Bank which both parties agreed to. We have to walk around on egg shells. There is no peace there for us. They can't stand to see us happy. They also have very young and unprofessional staff members working and managing for them. There were so many red flags in my short duration there that I don't even have the energy to list them all. They should honestly be investigated and if you want peace, find somewhere better while saving your money. I will not be returning back to The David Lloyd Spa Gym in Coventry and frankly this experience has discouraged me from their whole company.
