  Just wanted to shout out to Jack who was a real star yesterday. I left a message on the arena's answer machine with a problem I had to solve. Within 10 minutes, Jack rang me back with a solution that made my day so much easier and prevented me from having to juggle several things at once and could have potentially become a great source of stress. Jack is always welcoming and solution orientated for his customers when working at the front desk . Thank you so much Jack

  Great center with good facilities but recently I’ve noticed how dirty the center is becoming which is going to ruin the fact it was only recently built. I’ve noticed the bottom of the pool is collecting dirt which is off putting but doesn’t get cleaned just gets worse. The gym today was really dirty. I did some push ups and working out on the mats but left the gym covered in dust, dirt and peoples hair. The ball I used also looked like it just came back from an outdoors assault course. I noticed about the courts also being dirty and dusty. The whole center is need of a deep clean!🧽 I pay £75 a month - which is a lot - but hear there's a new centre being built in Farnborough so hope this place gets clean!

  My son has been attending the gym at Places Leisure Camberley for around two years and never had any issues. However, over the past 3–4 months, he has consistently told me about the way he and other juniors are being treated by staff during the junior gym sessions. The behaviour from Darren and some of the other employees has been unnecessarily rude, dismissive, and disrespectful toward the junior members, without any clear reason. Young people should feel encouraged and supported in a supervised gym environment, but instead they are being spoken to in a way that makes them feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. I’m also concerned that staff raise their voices at the kids if they remain in the gym even five minutes after the session ends, and threaten to ban their memberships if this happens repeatedly. Expecting teenagers to be watching the clock every few minutes is unrealistic, and the way this is being handled feels excessive and intimidating rather than supportive. This treatment is now making my son dislike going to the gym, which is very disappointing in a facility that is meant to promote health, wellbeing, and youth participation in fitness. I hope management looks into this and ensures that junior members are treated with the respect they deserve.

  Swimming pool is always over crowded. Need to give all your personal info in creating an account to attend anything. Paying cash is a problem as only one till accepts, definite attempt to get everyone over to card/phone and collect information. Customer service is always 'It's company policy' and is hit and miss. I've been in the que 15/20 minutes sometimes whilst they are having a gossip. also way to expensive for what it is. Been going a while but finally had enough. Will look for somewhere else.

  I am a member who has paid an annual fee. Previously, cancellations were not allowed within 2 hours of a booked exercise class; this has now been extended to 6 hours. However, I have not received any communication regarding this change to the terms and conditions. I cancelled a class 3 hours before it was due to start, and the app allowed me to do so without any warning or notification. Under the previous system, when cancellations were not permitted within 2 hours of a class, the cancellation option would disappear from the app. Now, despite the 6-hour restriction, the app still allows cancellations within that period without any indication that a penalty will be applied. As a result, if a booking is not cancelled at least 6 hours before the class, a £4 charge is applied and the Places Leisure app is blocked. This prevents access to facilities until the charge is paid, despite my annual membership already being paid in full. Additionally, a 6-hour cancellation window is excessive—most gyms do not impose such a long notice period. As a working individual, there are times when unexpected commitments arise, making it difficult to cancel classes so far in advance. There have also been instances where classes are cancelled without proper communication, and staff are unaware until attendees ask about the status. Members take the time and effort to attend, only to be told upon arrival that the class has been cancelled. Yet when members cancel even 3 hours in advance, they are penalised £4. This is unreasonable. Allowing cancellations through the app without any warning, and then applying a charge afterwards, is unfair and misleading. While Places Leisure are prompt in collecting membership fees, they restrict access to facilities until penalty charges are paid. This practice is unethical and needs to be addressed.
