  The only positive was the first member of staff who did my pre-screening and OCT scan. Everything else was unacceptable. The optometrist was highly unprofessional. The testing room light was constantly flickering, making it impossible to see the screen. When I complained, she dismissively said she "had no control over the light" and only reluctantly moved me to another room after I refused to continue. Before the test, different staff repeatedly questioned why I wanted an eye test since my last one was a year ago. After finishing the test, I realized why: they immediately started aggressively hard-selling their subscription plan, going on and on about the benefits of joining for two years. Their only priority is hitting sales targets, not customer care. Disgraceful.

  Atrocious customer service. Very unfriendly and not accommodating at all. Lady at the counter could do with customer service training too. Wouldn’t recommend.

  My sister had a pre-booked appointment and we arrived exactly five minutes after the appointment time. The member of staff told us that they have a “five-minute policy” and therefore could no longer see her. I specifically pointed out that we had arrived exactly five minutes late — not six, seven or ten minutes late — but we were still told that the appointment could not go ahead and were simply asked when we would like to book another appointment. What made this particularly frustrating was the complete lack of consideration for the time and effort involved in getting there. We had travelled a considerable distance for this appointment, and rearranging another appointment means having to organise work and travel all over again. I have since checked Vision Express’s published UK appointment information and I cannot find any clearly stated policy saying that a customer who arrives five minutes late will automatically have their appointment cancelled. If this is genuinely the store’s policy, customers should be clearly informed of it when booking or in their appointment confirmation so they can make an informed decision and plan accordingly. I completely understand that arriving late can affect a busy appointment schedule, and I would have understood if we had arrived substantially late. However, refusing an appointment at exactly five minutes while referring to a “five-minute policy”, without any attempt to accommodate us or properly explain the situation, felt unnecessarily rigid and was extremely frustrating. Unfortunately, after today’s experience, I would be very reluctant to travel back to this branch for another appointment.

  Absolutely outstanding experience at Vision Express Trafford Centre. From the moment I arrived, I was made to feel genuinely welcome and well looked after. The eye test was extremely thorough and professional, and everything was explained clearly and patiently throughout. What impressed me most was the level of care and attention to detail — I never felt rushed, and I felt that the team genuinely cared about getting everything right for me rather than simply going through the motions. The whole team were friendly, knowledgeable and professional, and the customer service was exceptional from start to finish. It’s rare to receive service that feels both highly professional and genuinely personal at the same time. I left feeling completely confident and very well looked after. A huge thank you to everyone at Vision Express Trafford Centre for making the whole experience so positive. I would happily recommend this branch to anyone looking for excellent eye care and first-class customer service. Definitely deserving of five stars!
