Excellent club with fantastic facilities and a great atmosphere. The gym is modern, spacious, and well-equipped, while the spa and pool areas are always clean and relaxing. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help, making every visit enjoyable. There is a wide range of classes and activities available, catering to all fitness levels and interests. The club has a real community feel, and the recent upgrades have made it even better. Overall, a premium health and fitness club that offers great value for anyone looking to improve their wellbeing and enjoy high-quality facilities. Highly recommended.
If I could give 0 stars, I would.
I signed up to this gym at the beginning of May after moving to the area. After only visiting a handful of times, I became increasingly frustrated by the lack of available equipment and limited access to the facilities, despite paying for what is marketed as a premium membership.
I contacted the sales team within the 14-day cooling-off period, and they agreed to cancel my membership and issue a refund. However, despite this being agreed nearly two months ago, I am still waiting for both the cancellation and refund to be processed.
To make matters worse, I have been threatened with recovery action if I do not continue making payments. This is despite having spoken to the team by phone and being assured that my membership had been cancelled. Instead of resolving the issue, they have continued to bombard me with emails demanding payment.
I have tried contacting the sales team through every available channel, including phone, email and the app, but have received no response. No one answers the phone, and my messages continue to go unanswered.
The level of customer service has been absolutely appalling from what is supposed to be a premium brand. Save your money and avoid this gym. The facilities are disappointing, and the service is even worse.

I find it a bit odd that so many of these Google reviews are from people commenting upon receiving a tour. Why review a gym based purely on a tour?! Surely you need to have experienced the facilities for a while first.
I’ll start with the positives. The gym is pretty decent. Nice range of equipment and I like the muted green tones. It can get busy at peak times but it’s generally not too bad.
The spa area is nice and great to relax in after a workout.
I haven’t had a single bad interaction with any member of staff - they’re all polite, welcoming and very professional. I think the cleaning standards are pretty good.
The club room is nice and comfortable. Prices for food and drink are reasonable.
Negatives - I hate the location. It’s in Lichfield south at the intersection of some major roads. There are no safe cycle routes and no train station nearby. That means you have to rely on a private car to get there and often get stuck in traffic jams. What should be a 10-min journey often ends up being double. The gym doesn’t have any secure cycle parking.
It’s not great for racquet sports. 3 outdoor tennis courts, but no padel.
The ‘business hub’ can be extremely noisy, so it’s difficult to concentrate if trying to do some work or reading.
The air con in the gym has recently packed in. Dreadful timing since we’re in a heatwave. It’s unbearable trying to do any type of cardio in a warm gym. Considering the price we pay, this kind of issue shouldn't last for weeks.

Have been a platinum member to this gym for many years and it gets worse and worse each year, overselling members to the point no equipment is available on arrival. and yet I still see staff showing new people around. I'm surprised anyone would want to sign up after seeing how busy it actually is. The aircon in the gym has been broken on several occasions even when it has been 25+ outside, how are you meant to work out in that sort of heat !
one of the days I was told to give my phone over to a receptionist just so they could bump up there ratings, cant believe I let her do that! crazy that a gym this big has to do that because they know its getting worse by the day.
is honestly a joke the price you pay for a bang average gym at best that's way to busy. the spa is the only good thing going for it and even then that can be over packed to the point you cant sit in the outside pool area. Also broken seating in the outside pool which took them months to fix and sort.
the food isn't worth your money either, have ordered numerous of times and it would take way too long to taste like its a ping meal. me and my friends have had to ask on multiple occasions where our food is after 40 minutes on a pretty empty day!
after years off going to this gym even before all the refurbishment I'm sad to say I'm probably going to move somewhere else. the price really doesn't justify the whole experience anymore.
all they care about is money, not you as a member.

If I could give zero stars, I would.
When I joined David Lloyd in 2025, my membership for myself and my two sons was £208 per month. At the start of this year, my fees increased to £222.50, which I accepted as part of the annual increase.
However, on 1 June I discovered that David Lloyd had attempted to take £257.59 from my account – an increase of over £35 per month with no explanation.
I immediately emailed the club and was assured by reception that the matter would be flagged and someone would contact me. Since then, I have spent all day trying to get answers, making multiple phone calls, leaving my details and requesting a callback. Nobody has returned my call, and nobody has responded to my email.
What has disappointed me most is not just the increase itself, but the complete lack of communication. As a loyal member paying hundreds of pounds every month, I expect transparency and basic customer service when querying a substantial increase in fees.
At the time of writing, I am still waiting for someone to explain why my monthly payment has suddenly increased and why none of my attempts to contact the club have been acknowledged.
Very poor customer service.
