- SLSusan L2 days ago1.0I visited the Epsom Branch for an eye test in September and using that prescription had varifocal glasses made by another company. With the new glasses I was unable to see at distance with one eye, I revisited the Epsom branch and was seen by a different optician who checked the glasses and confirmed the lenses had been correctly dispensed and a subsequent eye test was totally different from the one three weeks previously. I did complain at the time but I was informed it was company policy that as I had purchased the glasses from another supplier the cost of replacement lenses was down to me even though it appeared to be the result for an optician’s error. As I had no confidence in Vision Express I had a further eye test at Specsavers who were very good and the company who I purchased the glasses from SpecsatHome were absolutely brilliant, they replaced the lenses and returned them to me in two working days. I did submit an email complaint to the complaintsofficer at visionexpress.com but it’s been ten days and not so much as an acknowledgement. I shan’t be using Vision Express again.

When one arm became loose, staff directed me to Leightons, where I was told that a small metal component had broken and the arm needed replacing. Back at Vision Express, I was simply told that they could not repair the glasses and I would have to buy a new pair. No explanation was offered as to why a replacement arm or frame could not be supplied. After only around 18 months, I expected some effort to find a solution. Instead, I felt dismissed and won't come back..
