Reviewing after emailing the Complaints Department :(.
After using specsavers for several years, I decided to visit Vision Express because they stocked a great variety of brands and frames. I paid just under £300 for a pair of Prada frames just two years ago, so when I noticed such a deterioration in frames, I returned to the store for them to take a look. It's as if a whole layer has come off of my frames and they're now a white colour. The staff have always been friendly and I appreciate their hands are tied, but I was informed that the frames have only one years warranty - which honestly seems a little pointless. The lady examined the frames and suggested they could've been damaged by the sun, which isn't fitting because I have prescription Sunglasses. Also, wearing glasses for over 20 years, I know the dos and donts. In short, there was nothing she could do or advise on how to help. I decided to email a complaint, which basically obtained a response of "sorry, but the frames only have a one year warranty".
The extent of damage in just two years with no apparent reason as to why isn't great. Who can afford to replace their glasses every two years? And what kind of prestigious brand only offers that kind of warranty and quality of frames for the price they charge.
Appreciate Vision Express may be acting as a "middle man", but they're still ultimately selling a product, and some sort of ownership and responsibility needs to be in place.
