I just went to David Lloyd’s Cheadle and it was the best health club. All the staff are fantastic especially Chloe Hinsley who went out of her way for everyone.

I recently tried another gym, but after comparing the experience, I realised how much better David Lloyd is for me. When I decided to come back, the manager made me feel genuinely welcome and was incredibly professional and friendly. I’ve had the same positive experience with all the staff so far. Everyone is welcoming, helpful and professional, which makes such a difference to the overall atmosphere. I’m really happy to be back at my old gym. Sometimes you don’t realise what you have until you try somewhere else! David Lloyd definitely feels like the right place for me, and I’m glad I came back.

Emily was fantastic on showing us around and explaining all of the facilities available at the gym. She was really helpful and I would not have signed up if it was not for her as she was very accommodating with arranging a tour of the club, even after she finished her shift. She went beyond what was expected of her. Thanks Emily.

The gym was an average/poor experience until I took a shower and noticed multiple bogies on the front and back of my shorts, at which point I was feeling sick. I went on a guest pass today. I’ve heard that it’s a posh gym. There seem to be good facilities if you’re into racket sports. However, the gym is fairly outdated and not maintained well. There was one piece of equipment that had machine oil on the handles; another was missing weight pins, making it unusable. The whole area reminded me of a high school (very uninspiring for a gym in 2026). I also checked out the spa. The lockers were old, where you had to bring your own padlock. Used towels were piling up in several places. The spa itself had a decent aesthetic, but still not the most luxurious. They had two saunas of different temperatures: warm and hot. The hot sauna had a usually unpleasant smell. I’ve been to many hot saunas before and none of them had a bad smell like this one. There was also a cold plunge/ice bath. It was great other than that during peak hours it gets a layer of snot and bogies at the top from many people using it one after another. Unfortunately, I only noticed this after my third plunge 😭. When getting out of the cold plunge, my shorts dragged up a few boogies from the ice bath. I’ve never experienced having to clean a bunch of strangers’ snot off my shorts before. But there’s always a first time for everything. I didn’t bother going into the Jacuzzi, as I overheard a few girls in the sauna saying that their skin was feeling itchy after going in. Other than that, it was great 👍🏽 Edit: I think the membership should probably be split for racket sport players and purely gym-goers. I would say that the gym is lower quality than most budget gyms, e.g. PureGym, maybe charge £20 or something. For the spa, you could maybe charge £40 a month. The current tag of £190 per month is a scam 😅
