I recently joined David Lloyd Emersons Green and I’ve been really impressed. The facilities are fantastic and the whole club has such a welcoming feel.
The new membership team were brilliant from the start. Chloe, in particular, did an amazing job answering all my questions before I joined. I never felt pressured just supported and well‑informed, which made the whole process so much easier.
I use DL Kids a lot and my 7‑year‑old loves the variety of activities on offer. He also attends swimming lessons Kendal and Evie are both wonderful, patient teachers who have really helped build his confidence in the water.
As part of joining, I received three personal training sessions. Joe has been amazing he really listened, understood my goals, and has helped me start getting back into fitness in a way that feels achievable and motivating. I also use the gym with my 11‑year‑old son, which has been a great way for us to spend time together while keeping active, I am looking forward to starting the Rebal Blaze class with him once we have built up our confidence.
The classes are excellent. I’ve done the yoga class, which was relaxing, well‑structured, and left me feeling refreshed. The swimming pools and changing areas are always clean and smell fresh every time I visit. The spa is a lovely way to unwind after a workout, and I’ve especially enjoyed the outdoor jacuzzi.
I’m currently studying, and being able to use the club for this has been a huge bonus. There’s a workspace area near the bar with a desk, plug socket, and stool perfect for focusing. It can get a little busy and noisy at times, but it still works well for me.
There is a good food menu, and excellent choices for children. Smoothies are delicious!
Overall, I would definitely recommend David Lloyd Emersons Green to anyone looking for a club that supports both family life and personal fitness, while also giving you space to relax and recharge. Keep up the fantastic work, David Lloyd team!
I joined David Lloyd in May, and since then I’ve honestly been there nearly every day. It has quickly become such a big part of my routine, and I genuinely love coming in. In fact, I’m about to go on holiday and I already know I’m going to miss it because I enjoy being there so much!
The facilities are fantastic, but what really makes the club special is the people. Sandra and Grace on reception are always so warm, friendly, and welcoming. They greet me with a smile every time I come in and always make me feel valued as a member.
A huge thank you as well to Rhianna, my personal trainer. She has been absolutely brilliant and very supportive , and genuinely invested in helping me achieve my goals. She has made a real difference to my fitness journey so far. I look forward to booking more sessions.
I’d also like to mention Faye, one of the other personal trainers, who always takes the time to come over for a chat and check in with me. She is incredibly friendly and makes me feel very comfortable and welcome whenever I’m at the club.
Overall, I couldn’t be happier with my experience. It’s a fantastic club with an amazing atmosphere and an even more amazing team. Thank you to everyone for making it somewhere I look forward to visiting every day!

Honest review after a year's membership.
Unfortunately, after a year, I came to the conclusion, as many do, that the club is simply not good value for money and falls short of expectations.
The Positives:
- Good quality classes & groups, run by enthusiastic facilitators
- Changing rooms: genuinely nice, clean & never overcrowded
- Small but modern & enjoyable spa facilities
- Family-friendly
The Negatives:
- Popular classes, groups & courts are borderline impossible to book, unless you work out when they are released on the app. Many are fully booked within 10 seconds of release
- The car park - very often completely full
- The entry system. I would estimate that I was able to enter the club successfully with the contactless system around 60% of the time. It became a constant frustration that my barcode scan was met with a red light and a member of reception had to authorise me through
- The courts are too few in number and are not adequately air-conditioned
- Pool overcrowding, especially on sunny days
- Food & Drink. Of reasonable quality & price, but unfortunately I stopped buying anything from the bar due to - and this is no exaggeration - probably the slowest staff I've ever experienced in any form of leisure setting. It was not unusual from placing an order to receiving food to wait an hour, even at quiet times
- The Gym - I was also, on a regular basis, unable to access ANY gym machinery due to overcrowding
- The hot water was intermittently out of order for weeks. Unbelievably poor for any health centre, never mind one charging this premium
The running theme here, and the critical reason for the cancellation of my membership, is severe over-subscription. The club has far too many members for the facilities it provides. I am writing this review as these are the things I wish I had known before signing up.

I have been a member at David Lloyd Emersons Green since 1st May, and I have loved every minute of it from the moment I walked through the doors.
The facilities are excellent, but what really makes the club stand out is the people. Everyone is incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help.
A special mention goes to James, my Personal Trainer, who has been fantastic throughout my three introductory sessions. He has provided great advice, motivation, and support, which has really helped me on my fitness journey.
I also attended Dan’s Blaze class, which was brilliant. His energy and encouragement kept me motivated throughout the session and made the experience enjoyable from start to finish.
Another standout member of the team is Ella in the Clubroom. She is always bubbly, friendly, and welcoming, and it’s genuinely a pleasure seeing her whenever I order food or drinks.
The recent Summer Party was also a fantastic event. The weather was perfect, the atmosphere was great, and it was another example of the community feel that David Lloyd creates so well.
When I first toured the club with Adam, he spoke about David Lloyd being more than just a gym and becoming a lifestyle. Everything he told me has proven to be true, and he certainly didn’t disappoint.
I have also visited the Westbury club and noticed some excellent upgrades, particularly the gym equipment and spa facilities. Looking ahead, the only improvements I would personally love to see at Emersons Green would be some upgraded gym equipment, a cold plunge pool, and possibly larger towels.
Overall, I am extremely happy with my membership and would highly recommend David Lloyd Emersons Green to anyone looking for a gym with fantastic facilities, classes, and an even better community. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
After a year + of membership, here's my honest thoughts from being a member -
The good
Range of facilities is great, lots for kids (lots of kids) and the team are always very nice and friendly.
What does make me think its hugely overpriced is the following:
Cleanliness of the gym. Where the cleaners get most areas, there is a constant later of dust around the border (pictures attached) and thick dust in all the corners. The equipement also has dust and old sweat and the floor/walls are filthy with old stains. On a busy day, chalk is everywhere and the equipment isnt reset - It just sits where it was left for hours. Its par on level with your standard £17 24/7 gym.... although the latter is cleaner.
The bar and hospitality are ALWAYS understaffed. The service is extremely slow, sometimes you stand there and have to listen to teams private conversations whist you wait 10+ mins. There seems to be a lack of managerial presence on the bar or food area. The tables are generally always wet or have food/plates on them.
The changing rooms and shower areas are OK, but again, grey dust has been a permenant feature on the wall in the womens changing cubicles and hair is EVERYWHERE. When looking closer at some aspects in the saunas you can see some very old, built up sweat residue, which is off putting. People also sneak in the back gate on hot days to access the pool. We reported this before but no staff attended to remove the 6+ people that entered for free.
Generally, the feeling is they are always understaffed, the site is desperatly requiring a walk around cleaning audit. I love the social media, but it doesnt feel just when you look at the core aspects that would benefits members. It doesnt feel premimum, especially as we have paid the cost of a small car to have been members. Its OK, but not the experience I expected for my money.
