Absolutely wonderful experience at Vision Express! From the moment I arrived, everyone was so friendly, kind and welcoming. The eye test was very thorough and professional, and everything was explained to me clearly and patiently. I never felt rushed and felt genuinely looked after throughout my appointment.
The service was excellent from start to finish, and the staff were lovely. I’m really happy with my experience and would definitely recommend Vision Express to friends and family.
Brilliant , kind staff and very hard working

Hi I visited first time on 25 August at vision express Tesco eye test for oct scan together but I am not a satisfied who did eye checkup optician Ms S Patel who has a attitude and very rude , she was not welcoming and friendly as She was talking too fast, I couldn't understand few things so I requested her to repeat and speak slow so I can understand but she said to me I have English understanding problem, I recommend to visit another optician like asda or specsaver in town, their staff is really nice.
I have been dealing with this store for around 3 years, and after finally moving I think it's time to summarise my experience.
The front of house staff are friendly, but there is nothing else positive to say.
The store is physically impossible to reach by phone. I have tried to call them 10+ times over the last 3 years and only once have they picked up, which was about 2 years ago. I started questioning whether their phones even work and tried to call them while sitting inside the store. The phone did in fact ring, but everyone ignored it. If you need to reach them by phone, I would suggest ringing the Vision Express head office who seem to be able to action things.
Every single time I have had a contact lens prescription update, someone has forgotten to put it on the system and I had to go back into the store 2 weeks later and ask them to update it. I have historically been posted my old prescription several weeks after getting it updated due to their incompetence, and each time I have to go back into the store.
The last time I went (about a year ago), the optometrist was the worst I have seen. I appreciate the guy seemed quite early in his career, but I was facing a real issue where the contact lenses move on my eye that he was completely unable to resolve. From basic intuition, I suggested using a contact lens with a lower base curve, and the guy just complied and moved me to a lower base curve lens (why did I bother booking the appointment?). The lenses were cheap and rubbish, still moving on my eye but now with the added feature of causing dryness. I assumed that my eyes must just be an unfortunate shape, and spent the last year continuing with this issue of blurred vision and eye strain.
In the end, I chose the easiest option and moved to Boots Opticians (who answer the phone!). The optometrist was able to immediately diagnose the issue and tried me with a pair of contact lenses with a larger diameter which do not move on my eye. I can now see perfectly clearly and without eye strain.
Note: these issues seem to be with the Hampton branch specifically. I used to go to the branch in Queensgate and it was fine.
I award 2 stars rather than 1 because it is in a convenient place.
