  Appalling customer service and a complete lack of care or professionalism. I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Tesco Pharmacy. I waited in a queue for 15 minutes to purchase over-the-counter pain relief for a work colleague who was suffering with significant back pain, only to be refused the medication I had requested. I clearly explained that my colleague had already tried ibuprofen and paracetamol, neither of which had provided any relief. Despite explaining this, the woman serving me simply advised me to take the same medication I had already confirmed was not working. Rather than properly listening to my concerns, offering meaningful advice or explaining the situation appropriately, I was effectively dismissed and told to go down the road and get the medication elsewhere. Quite frankly, I found this attitude shocking. I had already spent 15 minutes waiting to be served, explained the situation clearly and was trying to help someone who was in considerable pain. To be met with such a dismissive attitude and essentially told to take my business elsewhere, without any real attempt to help, was incredibly frustrating. I fully appreciate that pharmacists have professional responsibilities and that there may be legitimate reasons for refusing to supply certain medication. However, if a request cannot be fulfilled, I would expect a clear explanation, professional communication and appropriate guidance on what to do next. Simply telling a customer to go elsewhere, after making them wait, is not the level of service I would expect from Tesco. The complete lack of empathy and willingness to assist left me feeling that my concerns were nothing more than an inconvenience. I was not expecting the member of staff to disregard safety requirements; I was expecting basic courtesy, a professional explanation and some constructive advice. Tesco needs to seriously review the standard of customer service being provided by this pharmacy. Customers should not be left feeling brushed aside and unsupported when they are trying to obtain pain relief for someone who needs it. There is a significant difference between responsibly refusing a medication and making no meaningful effort to help the customer find a suitable way forward. After 15 minutes of waiting, I left thoroughly dissatisfied with the experience. I would not expect to be treated this way in any retail setting, let alone a pharmacy where customers are seeking healthcare advice and assistance.

  The Pharmacist at this Tesco Pharmacy can be relied upon to offer his support, advice and assistance. Since "Jack" left some 18 months or so ago he was a hard act to follow but given that the Pharmacy has undergone some changes during this time the present Pharmacist has stepped up. Staffing or lack of it is at the root of any problems not the staff or the will to fulfill what is expected of them.

  The pharmacy is useless. Long queues, never get the correct or complete prescription. The prescription is for end of life cancer care so extremely important. There was a scruffy hairy looking compost bin of a bloke reducing items in the bakery aisle that was extremely rude and had zero customer service skills. Huffing and muttering stuff at my dad who is in a wheelchair.
