All the staff I encountered were so helpful. I would like to name them but my menopausal brain is objecting.

I called Specsavers in Thetford this morning because my eye was hurting and it was inflamed. I have been a Specsavers customer since 2009, and since then I have been using Night and Day contact lenses. I pay the monthly fee and go for an eye check every three months. Every time I am told that if I have any problem with my eyes, I should come in for an immediate check-up. So after 17 years, this was the first time my eye became inflamed, so I called Specsavers this morning. They took my details and told me that a doctor would call me back soon. In the afternoon, at 2:45, the doctor called me back and said I needed to be examined immediately. But unfortunately, they were very busy and could not see me, and told me to go to the nearby city of Bury St Edmunds and wait in the emergency department. I was not happy with that, and the call ended. I waited a few minutes, but nobody called me back. Then I called Thetford Specsavers again, and a lady answered. I explained everything from the beginning, and she was not very kind. She told me to go to the hospital. I mentioned that they could have told me that in the morning. Maybe then I would not have lost my whole day, and not to mention my eye pain. After that, I said that after 17 years, I did not expect this. Then the lady hung up on me. I understand that an emergency eye examination does not take more than 10 minutes, and I do not believe it would not have fit into their day, because every one of my eye appointments involved waiting at least 30 minutes. Of course, I also understand that this is not profitable for them. I don't this was handled the right way and you've just lost a very long standing customer. I also have a business myself and although I am selling only cars but if a customer comes in with an emergency fault I make 10 minutes to check it out, even though it's only a car not an eye.

I had a really good experience at Specsavers. Booking was easy, and I didn’t have to wait long when I arrived. The optician was thorough and took time to explain my prescription and answer my questions. The team helping me choose glasses were patient and gave helpful advice without being pushy. Overall, very professional and good value.

I had Angel do my eye test and she was so lovely. She was very friendly throughout, reassuring me about things and talking me through the process. She helped me choose which glasses suited me best and I just felt very at ease with her. Thank you angel
