  Changing rooms are dirty especially the family one. Staff is overall unfriendly and unhelpful. And they have the cheek to increase the membership fee.

  Staff are so lovely- however the facilities and the place itself is outdated and it’s showing. Dirty stinky bathrooms, gym equipment is regularly faulty , during peak times you struggle to get a piece of equipment and you will struggle to get into the classes (you have to book maximum 1 week in advance for Pilates etc). During summer it is like a sauna as there are barely any fans and no air conditioning. They have a really lovely cafe but unfortunately it is quite slow! Once my membership is up in a month I will be going elsewhere. Beware before setting yourself up with a membership.

  Horrible experiance i have been a member with this gym since 2011 now they clearly care about new members than exisitng members, last year on my renewal someone instead of extending my contract put me on a monthly rolling contract at a higher price i was offered nothing for their mistake. This year i recieved an email regarding my renewal which stated if i did not contact them they would automatically renew my contract, I called the number on the email to be on hold over half an hour while the call stated ‘your in line as caller number 1’ to then realise the lines have closed. Clearly someone at customer service left the previous call engaged to finish at 5 and not take another call, which then resulted to me driving to the gym which was not needed. Furthermore the yearly price increase is not justified as the gym is always busy due to virgin active overloading memberships since their refurb a couple years ago before that it was fine. Virgin active seemed happy to end my membership than hear the issue i will also be raising this on social media. After reading others reviews WOW nothing has clearly been done its clear the gym was fine before the refurb the price now is not worth it rather join Daviid Lloyds or Foundry Gym nearby.

  Rats in the car park, mould in the showers. Dirty and oversubscribed, the club is on a downward trajectory with membership fees rising. Female member of staff came into the male changing rooms unannounced. Unacceptable.

  I’ve been a member here for a few years and have previously been a member at Virgin Active Northampton Riverside / Northampton Collingtree. Overall this is an excellent gym and on a par with my experiences at the other two clubs. Good facilities but investment needed in the dated changing rooms and entry barriers that could really do with digital wallet access like David Lloyd has recently rolled out. Big price increase this year (equivalent to 25% on a full flex membership) but no transparency from management about why and no clear plan on how this will improve services. Nonetheless a great gym and probably the best option in the area!
