  Lillian is an extremely courteous and kind member of staff that has been such a help with ongoing issues I’ve been having with extra fees. Lillian took the time to look through everything herself and hopefully come to a conclusion (which other staff members were not offering to do). Thank you Lillian for making my day a bit brighter!! :)

  I’m a member who regularly uses both the Sheffield and Nottingham Virgin Active gyms, and the difference in quality between the two is significant. Sheffield is an excellent facility with outstanding spa amenities — including a hydropool, multiple large sauna and steam rooms, and a well-maintained, spacious wellness area. It genuinely feels like a premium gym experience and justifies the membership cost. Unfortunately, Nottingham is far below the same standard. The spa facilities are extremely limited: the sauna is very small and has now been closed for over a month, and the steam room is tiny and often overcrowded. The changing rooms are also frequently dirty, and the overall gym feels overcrowded and poorly maintained at peak times. Given that Virgin Active advertises Nottingham as having spa facilities, this feels quite exaggerated compared to what is actually available on site. Many members I’ve spoken to share the same concerns. With the recent increase in membership prices, I am seriously reconsidering whether to continue my membership unless significant improvements are made. The Nottingham site feels like it relies too heavily on the “converted station” aesthetic rather than investing in modern, functional facilities that match other Virgin Active gyms. If Nottingham matched the standard of Sheffield, I would have no hesitation in continuing my membership.

  Both the atmosphere and breadth of classes makes this a worthwhile gym, pool sauna and cafe gives it that extra star to make it to 5

  Lovely facilities and lovely staff , always there to help , especially Declan who took great care of me with my allergies that I really appreciated !
