Not worth the money. The facilities are in poor condition, it is far too crowded, and the cancellation policy is very unfriendly. The towels provided are so old that they can scratch your skin and stinks strongly of vinegar. In addition, there is no air conditioning, so it feels like one huge sauna in the summer.
They closed the pool during the summer for repairs and presented it as something significant, but I cannot see any real improvements. The wall colour is slightly different, but everything else is exactly the same as before.
I definitely do not recommend it. It does not feel like the premium service they are charging for.

Extremely disappointing experience for what is marketed and priced as a premium health club. I would never join David Lloyd again - avoid at all costs.
During our membership at David Lloyd Aspley, we regularly encountered dirty changing rooms and towels, repeated pool closures, children screaming in the lobby, and teenagers shouting and messing around in the changing rooms. This is to be expected in many places, but when you are paying over £200/month it is unacceptable. I also experienced uncomfortable pressure around booking further PT sessions — including being prompted to “book our next session” while standing directly in front of the PT.
But the worst part has been trying to leave. We relocated to Harwich, with our nearest David Lloyd now over 18 miles away. The General Manager at Aspley told me an invoice showing my new address would be sufficient evidence. I provided it.
Membership Support then said it wasn't sufficient and wanted further evidence. I provided proof that my bank address had been changed. That wasn't sufficient either. Now they want a recently updated driving licence. Every time I provide what I'm asked for, the goalposts move and another document is demanded.
Joining David Lloyd was incredibly easy. Apparently leaving is another matter entirely. I am now stuck in David Lloyd jail.

Not my home club and I am a higher team so my review is proportionate to the tier.
Changing rooms immaculate, friendly staff and although the gym is clearly old (not dirty) it is very very spaced out which means equipment is not wedged next to each other and why I like visiting here!

I had my personal training kickstart sessions with Steph in the gym. She is so lovely and kind. I would definitely recommend her for training, she gave me good advice about my workouts and helped me learn a lot about training my body. The workouts she chose were also different, choosing a range of exercises for me, I really enjoyed it and appreciate her effort!
My review of starting the gym has disappeared but just wanted to add Antonia really helped me with the sign up process. She was friendly and patient helping me with a smooth sign up.

i was a member at david loyds for a while, my year at uni finished and i moved back home to london in may. i requested on the app, in april to cancel my membership. no body contacted me. eventually i was being spammed and harassed by calls everyday and emails telling me to pay a huge amount of money even though i am travelling more than 10 miles (it says thats the minimum miles on the app when trying to cancel) and even though i had requested to cancel in april, and many times after that, they were still insisting on me paying this huge amount of money even though i haven’t been at the gym or going back since my time at uni is done. i am tired of receiving calls and literally being harassed by them and arc. i am not paying for a gym that i haven’t used in 5 months and cannot use at all as i dont live in nottingham anymore. they are now threatening me with escalation. this is ridiculous and very unfair. don’t give them option of cancelling if you harass us for it afterwards.
