- SFSheena FletcherSep 17, 20263.0I had an eye test on Tuesday 15th September. The optometrist who took my eye test was very very helpful and friendly and made me feel comfortable & understanding of my test and results throughout. The lady who done my oct scan was also very helpful and friendly. However the person who came to support me looking at frames I found was very quiet and not talkative, I mentioned about costs before looking because financial difficulty he said we would speak about that at the end. He picked up a few frames and when trying them on asked for his advise and opinion & found him not to be supportive; especially for someone who’s never worn glasses before. We picked the up the frames which I felt more comfortable with when trying them on and then he told me £250. I explained what I could afford this & he just looked at me, with no offer of being able to support for cheaper frames or any advice. I said I’d have to leave it and he barely said anything other than “okay”. He failed to mention that the anti glare would be free, instead of £40 which I learned at the white lion store and did not mention about NHS voucher which I was eligible for. I went to white lion street later which I found them so so helpful and supportive and spoke through all my options for what I needed for best value for me. Unfortunately I still haven’t been able to offer my glasses as Pound Lane store didn’t give white lion street when they called the code needed for the voucher. I’m quite annoyed about this service I received for someone who has never worn glasses that I was left to leave because I felt like there were no available options for my budget. And then having to go into the city and spend money on fuel to go and receive a better service but still unable to order my glasses which I’m still without.
