  Excellent appointment all of the staff were very professional. The young man who my wife and I sat down to finalise the sale of the Ray-Band sunglasses was very polite had great banter and put no pressure on us whilst going over all the options. Kind regards James & Natasha

  Disappointed is an understatement. I left this store feeling completely ignored, excluded and, frankly, disgusted by the level of customer service. I had an eye test booked for Sunday, and the actual examination itself was perfectly fine. The technician carried out the machine tests and the optician was professional throughout my appointment. Unfortunately, the experience fell apart the moment I was escorted back into the main store. The optician told me that a member of staff would be with me shortly. As a lorry driver, I specifically wanted to look at purchasing a pair of Ray-Ban glasses with some of the additional lens options available, so I was fully intending to spend money in the store. My partner and I then stood waiting for approximately 35 minutes while several members of staff appeared far more interested in standing around chatting, laughing and showing each other their clothing than serving customers. During that entire time, nobody approached me, acknowledged me or even explained that there might be a delay. Eventually, I went to the front desk myself, where I then had to wait another seven minutes before anyone even asked if I needed help. By this point I was understandably frustrated and explained that I had been waiting to be served while members of staff were standing around talking and laughing amongst themselves. What made the experience even worse was that I had already seen one member of staff pointing in my direction while laughing with colleagues, so it was abundantly clear that my presence had not simply gone unnoticed. I asked for my prescription and walked straight across to Specsavers, where the difference in customer service was night and day. I was actually acknowledged, treated like a customer and helped. The whole experience at Vision Express was embarrassing, unprofessional and completely unacceptable. Being left standing around for over 40 minutes while staff socialised amongst themselves is bad enough; feeling as though members of staff were actively laughing at me made it considerably worse. I went in prepared to purchase Ray-Bans and additional lens options. Instead, Vision Express lost the sale and permanently lost me as a customer. Absolutely appalling service, and I will not be using Vision Express again.

  I came in to have an eye test and choose new glasses. Jess was very helpful for both myself and my partner to select the right glasses. Her technical expertise and advice was so helpful.

  Quick and professional eye exam. Super professional follow up to choose glasses. Was given time to browse and advice from an employee to purchase frames and lenses - was not pressurised at all and everything was explained to me carefully before payment options were chosen.

  I went here for an eye test because I was experiencing eye strain while using my computer. After the test, I was told my vision was nearly perfect and that the very small correction found was not enough for me to need corrective glasses. They also identified dry eyes and recommended eye drops, which seemed relevant to my symptoms. However, the optometrist specifically recommended glasses with a blue-light filter to help with computer-related eye strain. I accepted the recommendation and paid approximately £160 for the glasses. Afterwards, I discovered that there is no strong scientific evidence that blue-light-filtering glasses relieve computer eye strain. Vision Express’s own website says screen-related symptoms are often caused by reduced blinking and dry eyes, and also states that there is no evidence that blue light harms the eyes or retina. I feel the limitations of the evidence should have been explained before glasses were recommended, particularly when I had been told I did not otherwise need them and dry eyes had already been identified as a possible cause. To their credit, they gave me a refund immediately and without any difficulty. My concern is with the original recommendation, not how the refund was handled.
