On Sundays, we normally enjoy a slow morning because there’s no work or school. We sleep in, have breakfast in the garden and spend some quality time together as a family. But because my wife had booked a 10:00 am appointment for our son, we got ready and set off.
Then, just five minutes before our appointment, we received a phone call saying the optician was ill and couldn’t come in. So they were perfectly fine all night, fine when they woke up, fine all morning, and then, by some miracle, they became ill exactly five minutes before our appointment? Who is supposed to believe that?
Please… spare us the excuses.
