- SMSeb Mosquera5 days ago1.0Every listing for this gym, website included, states a 9pm closing time. There’s no mention anywhere of an earlier “floor closing” time. Yet tonight I was interrupted mid final set at 8:45pm and told the floor closes 15 minutes before the advertised time. I asked to finish my last set and leave at 9 as usual, and was told my details would be noted down for staying to finish my workout, simply for using time inside your own advertised opening hours. If closing time is actually 8:45, advertise that. Don’t sell 9pm and enforce 8:45, then treat members like they’ve done something wrong for using the time they’re paying for.

I’ve now lost my community and access to friendly staff I’ve gotten to know over the years due to a shameless money grab from Virgin. The gym hasn’t suddenly improved to warrant higher tier. It’s still the same as the others in its old tier status.

It’s frustrating when loyal members are asked to pay more for access they previously had, especially without any meaningful improvement in the service provided. Virgin Active markets itself as a premium gym, but at these prices, the overall experience simply doesn’t justify the cost. It’s a shame to see loyal members treated this way.
