Honestly, I can't recommend this place enough. Following a chance encounter with Claire on the gym floor, I started coming here to get my muscles dry-needled, in particular to reduce chronic pain in my knee. Claire fixed it in just a couple of sessions and then subsequently swung into action to diagnose and alleviate a trapped nerve in my neck. But beyond effective treatment, I'm struck by the care and concern she displayed. She's super-efficient and packs as much as possible into each session, then followed up to see how I was healing and to give me remedial exercises with a sense of genuine concern rather than pushing for further bookings. You need a bond of trust with your practitioner for this kind of treatment. Claire proves herself every time. I'm a fan.

Generally a good gym, despite the silly refurb, but I have had problems with customer service of late. I was renting a locker at £16 a month. Unfortunately, I lost my key, expected to just pay a fee for a replacement. Firstly- couldn't get anyone to help via the phone. No-one responded to my emails. I went to the club, all they could offer (after struggling to understand my perfectly clear explanation) was to break into the locker with a crowbar. They could not offer me either a new locker nor a replacement key, and couldn't even help me find a carrier bag for my stuff as I then had to empty my locker (I had to get a bin bag from the cleaner). Overall, they were offhand and uninterested. Yes, I lost my key, can't believe there's no spares or master keys.

One of the best virgin gyms, well maintained, spacious rooms with high ceilings and lots of natural light, great staff.

Poor management and unfair handling of a simple equipment dispute I had a very disappointing and embarrassing experience at the gym recently involving the operational manager, Amaadi. I was using the dip/pull-up station by the stairs. While resting between sets, another member started using it. I waited patiently for him to finish so we could alternate and share the equipment. Instead, he began another set and stayed on the machine. I politely approached him, explained that I had been using it first, and suggested we take turns. He immediately became confrontational, told me to go use another machine, and refused to share. Frustrated by his attitude, I expressed my disbelief (yes, I used a swear word in the heat of the moment). He then escalated the situation by going to get the manager. Amaadi came over with the member who complained in front of the entire gym floor, drawing everyone’s attention and making me extremely uncomfortable. The way this was handled felt one-sided and unprofessional. As someone who is well-known at this gym (I run a local business and many of my customers train here), being publicly embarrassed like this was damaging to my reputation. Managers and staff know me well, so this incident was especially disappointing. I believe Amaadi needs proper retraining on how to handle member conflicts fairly and calmly without abusing his position or escalating minor issues in a way that humiliates long-standing members. Basic de-escalation and fairness should be standard. I’ve had mostly positive experiences at this gym before, but this situation was poorly managed and left a bad taste. Hoping management takes feedback like this seriously to improve the environment for everyone.
