Over priced for what you get. Missing so many machines (smith machine preacher curl etc) only 5 benches. And they give you a bangle to get in and out which if you forgot you need to pay 8,50 - harder to carry around than a card

The gym has sadly gone downhill, especially the women’s changing rooms. Despite numerous complaints, there is always a thick layer of dust around the ceiling air vents, often a sewage smell in the shower, and trash left in lockers for days. This is less an issue of regular cleaners than an absence of semi-regular deep cleaning and quality checks. The male manager has said he has low visibility of the female locker room, but this is an unacceptable excuse.
Some of the staff are really wonderful, though a some of the newer staff is cold and fostering a more ‘gym bro’ and holier-than-thou atmosphere in the club. It’s a shame, since the staff that do a good job work really hard at it.
As this is the only reputedly high end club in Clapham common they get away with sub-par cleanliness and inconsistent service.

Unfortunately, my experience at this gym has been quite disappointing. The gym is very(!) small which means it is often difficult to get on any machines, which is not something I’d expect for the price you’re paying.
Additionally, I was told via email (in writing) that my contract would end in June so I signed up for a gym that is larger. However, I realised I was still being charged for Virgin into August. So I contacted Virgin, who told me that there had been a typo on their end and my contract actually wouldn’t end until September. This means I am left paying for 2 gyms for 4 months and am £400 out of pocket. There is no flexibility in this despite it being their mistake which, again, is not something I’d expect from a mid-range gym. In conclusion, despite having good classes (the instructors are great), I don’t feel the customer service or quality of gym is quite in line with the price they are charging.

Whilst small and sometimes busy, the gym has all the essentials. The reception and all of the staff and trainers are really welcoming. Great to have a pool and all the lifeguards are friendly. My only criticism is the women’s changing rooms could do with an upgrade and the showers are very very tired and don’t have a pleasant smell. The soap dispensers all need cleaning. There’s hair on the walls… I’d prefer to avoid showering there but I usually go before commuting to work. I’d also like ankle straps for the cable machine to use it for lower body workouts.
