  The layout of the gym is terrible and it's completely unsuited to the requirements of those that attend. The free weights section is tiny and always crammed, there are hardly any squat racks, and many essential machines are missing such as a calf raise machine. However, there are multiple huge open spaces that are hardly used, such as large class and functional areas. If even one of these was repurposed for free weights and squat racks it would make a huge difference. The saving grace is the changing rooms: plenty of space, the showers are great, and they provide towels and shampoo/shower gel which makes such a difference.

  The staff are very friendly and the gym floor and changing rooms are really clean, which is great. The gym itself is pretty basic unfortunately - no plate loaded machines (except a leg press), which other VA clubs have. The actual floor of the weights area is uneven, so most benches need to be put on 1.25kg plates to make them stable. The weights area is also really small and should be relocated to one of the larger areas of the gym.

  Been going to Cannon Street Virgin Active For the past four years and absolutely love this gym The boxing horses are unreal and the staff from instructors to the lovely Katarina Who always makes me smile when I visit and keeps the gym looking amazing! Thank you

  It was a good gym, clean and equipped well beyond my needs. Lately I just avoid it and can't wait to be out of contract. It is so crowded every time I go there that sometimes I just walk back out straight away- can't justify spending 3 hrs on a workout because there's a waiting line for every piece of gear. Patrons are stragely territorial and I long gave up on asking to switch in - all it got me is passive aggressive barks.I know club can't control this though.It's not helping when an aspiring strongman takes EVERY SINGLE PLATE to load up the sled and because he either works there or is friends with the staff nobody says a thing. "I''ll pass it on " means nothing will be done. At this point the only difference from a budget gym is the price of membership.

  Disappointing gym. Sauna is warm at best. Limited gym equipment eg no hip thrust machine. Shower pressure is very weak. However, there is a nice co working space.
