Whether helping with my glasses or contact lenses, she goes above and beyond to ensure everything is right and that I am completely satisfied. Nothing ever feels rushed, and she always takes the time to listen and offer the best advice. She is warm, friendly, and a pleasure to chat to, making every visit a positive experience. Her dedication to customer service is exceptional, and it is clear that she puts her customers' needs above everything else. Staff like her are a real credit to Specsavers. I don't often leave reviews, but as this uncomfortable experience has stayed with me, I felt compelled to write a review. Last Friday morning (12.06.26) I visited Specsavers on Tottenham High road. I had been there before a few years ago and had a great experience which is why I returned. The staff I initially encountered, from the lovely manager, to the charming young man who helped me choose my frames (the day before) to the optician who carried out my eye examination were all very welcoming and knowlegable. However, the lady who then served me to complete my order quite frankly was awful. She was pushy, condescending and at times throughout, blunt and rude. Despite me telling her that a full time carer for my son who has multiple disabilities and on a very low income, this lady continued to badger me when I explained that I could not afford the higher rated lenses and other additions that she wanted to add. This would have cost nearly £400 even with the NHS discount! When the optician and a senior colleague passed by she pointed out to them that I wasn't "listening" regarding the digital lenses that she insisted I accept. I just repeated that I really couldn't afford any more than £260 which was already past the point that I had budgeted for. I just had to go for the best lenses that I could afford. At one point she complained to her colleague (right in front of me) that "she's refusing the anti-glare", I had to repeat to her colleague that £260 total was the best I could do. It was quite humiliating as this lady was making these disparaging comments quite loudly where everyone in the store could hear. She continued to berate me about about my choice of lense, making further disparaging comments for at least 15 more minutes, at this point I had been in the store well over an hour. With the eye examination taking only 20 minutes. It was though she was attempting to manipulate me into caving in. It started to make me feel as though I was wilfully trying to damage my eyes! I couldn't budge on the price anymore even if I wanted to. At one point I offered to sign a disclaimer, because the constant comments designed to make me feel bad about my choice of lenses was becoming way too much. The lady then proceeded to measure my eyes. Then because she didn't like my choice of frames, she called not only the optician, but also her other colleague over to remeasure twice, despite both colleagues stating that the glasses were perfect for me! We finally got to the point of paying the deposit (50-70%) and I informed her that I would pay 50% to which she laughed (literally) and told me I would need to pay more, quoting a number that equated to 80% of the total! I declined and said that I would pay the 50% because that was what I could afford at that point. This lady then leaned back in her chair, smirked at me and said I needed to pay more. At that point I was just exhausted and was ready to leave. I offered to pay just over 50% take it or leave it. Thankly that was the end of it. I paid smiled at the other lady who had taken my payment and got out there. It has been a long time since I felt so maligned, made to feel small and at points of this exchange singled out and really not treated equally at all. Throughout this experience I remained clam and polite. I don't like scenes and I was determined not to be part of one. Unfortunately, this happened to be the one day of respite break that I had had in over a year. My son needs 24/7 care. I was supposed to be on an outing for carers. Instead the entire day was ruined. I spent the entire day just quiet and non-talkative, just not myself. I should have spoken out at the time and complained about her behaviour towards me, but as I had been 10 minutes late for the appointment, I didn't feel I could say anything. I am picking up my glasses in 2 weeks. Cannot say I am looking forward to it. Sadly, I don't think I will be returning to this branch of Specsavers again. Eye health should have been the priority, not upselling products.

“Thank you Sharon for always taking such good care of my eye appointments. I really appreciate your kindness and support. You are a very caring and compassionate person. Each time I visited you, you made me feel comfortable and relaxed. Knowing I can communicate with you freely. If you do go it will be my last time in Tottenham Spec-Savers. I am living out of London and I still find my way to you. A big thank you and I give you a 5 ⭐
