I would like to say a huge thank you to Halle, Lola, Amelia, Nohemi and Will for the wonderful care they provide in the crèche. They are such lovely, kind and caring people, and it gives me so much peace of mind knowing that my baby is in such good hands. I have been a member since 2018, and what makes it even more special is that they are the same wonderful people who used to look after my first son. It is amazing to see the same friendly and familiar faces all these years later, now taking care of my baby too. They are always welcoming, patient and attentive, and you can really see how much they care about the children. I am so grateful for everything they do and for the trust and reassurance they have given our family over the years. Halle, Lola, Amelia and Will — thank you for being such an amazing team and for taking such wonderful care of both of my children. I couldn’t recommend you highly enough! ❤️

Today I was taken on a tour by the brilliant Charlotte (from the new members team) - she was absolutely fantastic and explained everything in detail as we progressed through the club. The facilities are brilliant and Charlotte made a clear effort to explain the benefits of each area to myself but also for my wife and two kids, if they were to join too. The club honestly has everything you could ask for and more - I left knowing everything I could about classes, lessons, facilities and all the details that come with them. I never felt pressured to join, but it was a no brainer at the end of the tour. Charlotte was clearly passionate about the place and that came across well. Very much looking forward to starting - there’s so much to tick off the list.

⭐ 1/5 — Ben’s attitude completely put us off joining We visited David Lloyd Raynes Park with a genuine intention of becoming members, but unfortunately Ben’s attitude completely changed our minds. We had a 6:00 pm appointment to view the gym and spa. We were 15 minutes late, which I fully accept. However, after arriving, my wife, child and I then had to wait another 10 minutes at reception before Ben finally appeared. From the moment he approached us, Ben looked visibly irritated and made us feel as though our presence was an inconvenience. Rather than welcoming us or trying to make the best of the remaining time, he immediately focused on the fact that there supposedly wasn’t enough time to show us the gym and spa. There were still around 35 minutes available. Apparently 35 minutes wasn’t enough to show prospective members the facilities they had specifically asked to see, but leaving us waiting for another 10 minutes was acceptable. Instead of offering even a shortened tour, Ben seemed interested only in explaining the membership prices and ending the appointment as quickly as possible. There was no attempt to accommodate us, no enthusiasm, no solution and, most importantly, no feeling that our business was valued. I understand that being late is not ideal, and I take responsibility for our 15 minutes. What I do NOT accept is being treated dismissively after we then had to wait another 10 minutes ourselves. For someone representing David Lloyd to prospective members, I found Ben’s attitude extremely unprofessional and completely inappropriate for a club charging premium membership prices. We walked in ready to seriously consider joining. We walked out knowing we would spend our money elsewhere. David Lloyd Raynes Park may have excellent facilities — unfortunately, Ben made sure we never got the opportunity to see them. A perfect example of how one poor customer service experience can lose potential members before they even join. 1 star. I would give zero if Google allowed it.

I joined David Lloyd on 30 June specifically because of the crèche, which was the key reason I chose it over my previous gym. As a solo parent on maternity leave, this facility is essential for me to be able to use the gym at all. Unfortunately, my experience has been very disappointing. There has been inconsistent and conflicting information about crèche eligibility, and it took multiple calls before I was even able to book my daughter’s settling-in session. When I did try to book, availability was extremely limited, despite joining on the understanding I could use the crèche from early July. Even when I secured crèche slots, there were very few classes or PT sessions that aligned, often meaning I would need to pay for extra childcare just to attend a short workout. My complimentary Kickstart sessions were also almost impossible to use due to lack of availability. Most frustratingly, I emailed the membership team about these issues and received no response at all, despite chasing twice over a month. I also called customer service three times, who said they would escalate it. I eventually received a missed call that rang for only a few seconds, and no one has tried to contact me again. I am now six weeks into my membership and still haven’t even had my gym induction, meaning I’ve been unable to start personal training or properly use the facilities I joined for. Given the price of my membership (£249 per month) I’d really expect much better service.
