Very knowledgable and pleasant walk through with Darlia, thank you.
All our options were clearly presented, not pushy at all and also not rushed which was great for my mother in law to take her time and make a decision.

Darlia was absolutely fantastic! From the moment I arrived, she made me feel welcome and comfortable. She gave me a detailed tour of the David Lloyd facilities, taking the time to explain everything clearly and answer all my questions.
Her enthusiasm, professionalism, and friendly personality really stood out. She is incredibly charismatic and made the whole experience enjoyable and informative. I genuinely felt valued as a potential member.
Thank you, Darlia, for your excellent service. You are a real asset to David Lloyd. 10/10 experience!

This is by far the worst service I have ever experienced at David Lloyd. In such a large gym, they only provide one scale, which was broken and placed in the changing room.
When you sign up, they assign someone to you who is clearly focused on earning commission rather than properly explaining the membership. They are only interested in selling the service. I signed a three-month agreement, but nobody clearly explained that I had to give notice during the second month if I wanted to cancel. When I called in the third month, they charged me another £180 and told me I should have informed them one month earlier. This important information was never mentioned when they sold me the membership.
They also charged me £90 in administration fees, yet failed to provide accurate and transparent information. In my opinion, this is extremely misleading.
I would strongly advise people to think twice before joining. In my experience, PureGym, although much cheaper at around £50 per month, is much clearer and more transparent with its members.
This wasn’t just an issue with David Lloyd Kirkcaldy – in my opinion, the same problems exist across the chain. Save your money and look elsewhere.

This is for Kud. Sales manager.
I called yesterday to enquire about membership. Having been living with a chronic illness for 4 years with no diagnosis I felt the time had come to self care. I had come as a guest on Sunday and loved it.
I spoke to Kud and he made the process of joining so simple.
I’m 57 and have worked in customer care for many years and in today’s world it’s very rare to find someone like Kud who genuinely helped me.
Kud - wow … he spoke to me with immense kindness / understanding and made me feel my decision to join didn’t need to be questioned. There are times I can’t walk well and suffer with chronic pain. Kud’s manner was so warm and he said to me he would be my main contact.
In a world of such madness and speed it was so exceptional knowing that there was a person who demonstrated professionalism but with the most personal touch. I’m so grateful to him. I hope he is recognised for his outstanding ability and care. It’s rare.
I will be coming early this coming Thursday and can’t wait.
Kud - if you’re reading this -
I thank you.
I need so much help in trying to get strong again.
I already feel better knowing there is support.
Many thanks
Roberta :))))

This rating is to give an honest review of the gym. But most shockingly to highlight the extraordinary number of 5 star reviews that are based on 'so and so gave me a good tour'.
I have no evidence that these reviews are incentivised but even if they are not I fear the club may be treading on thin legal ground here based on the UK government's recent bans on fake reviews. (See, for example, https://lcf.co.uk/media-centre/blogs/understanding-the-uks-new-crackdown-on-fake-reviews/)
Regardless of the legal situation, the ethical one is beyond doubt. The vast majority of experience-based reviews of having used the club are, unfortunately, negative. The club has been inflating its reviews through getting potential members to say they were treated well when they were shown round the facilities.
As for the actual state of the club, it is unquestionable that this club does not represent value for money. I do not need to repeat the points that countless genuine reviews have made here. Sadly, they are all true.
Hygiene and maintenance, some members' behaviour, overcrowding and so on. They are not up to the standard of a luxury gym, not by a long shot. Perhaps if membership were £75 to £100 a month you could get away with it. But it is at least double that. I do feel bad for the cleaning staff having to deal with the ways in which members treat the facilities.
