I have never felt so uncomfortable in my life.
I booked an eye test to check my eyes. The lady who carried out my eye examination was wonderful. She was knowledgeable, kind, and very helpful.
However, after the examination, when I went to pay, I was taken to a small desk where I was told about a promotion they were running. That was absolutely fine. The problem started when the staff began trying to sell me very very expensive glasses. I had only gone there for an eye test, but I decided to have a look anyway. They then spent almost an hour trying to persuade me to buy very expensive glasses, and a second pair they told me maybe with blue light lenses, and several other extras.
I had already been at work all day and was suffering from a severe migraine. I ended up spending around an hour and a half in the store, and I was close to tears because of the constant pressure to buy products I did not want. I felt extremely uncomfortable and unable to leave without repeatedly saying no.
The manager should ensure that staff understand the difference between offering advice and putting customers under pressure. No customer should be made to feel as uncomfortable as I did.
Very bad experience for me.
Excellent store and service at David Clulow Victoria. Kevon in particular was incredibly attentive, professional and helpful. My fiancé walked away super happy with the frame he purchased. We visited your Battersea counterpart previously, and we were very impressed by the Victoria store’s assortment and service. We would wholeheartedly recommend!

Wonderful attentive, patient and supportive ophthalmologist if you have eyesight problems. I have experienced the best customer service throughout my post operative care following a vitrectomy that means I return frequently to adjust my prescription.

Really good eye test by a knowledgable and reassuring lady. Although, she provided misleading information about a £50 blue light filter which I've subsequently read is unnecessary (or utility is at least disputed - not made clear in-store). Tone shift moving from eye test to glasses sales person - flooded with high end options, pressure selling (discount only available today), encouraged to see purchase as "an investment". The recommendations were unsuitable for my needs (wearing for work use only). If you want to spend a lot on designer brands, come to Clulow, otherwise, stick with Specsavers.

Work took me to London and unfortunately, I had insufficient contact lenses for the return trip. Despite my not being a customer, the staff in David Clulow's were extremely helpful and spoke with my regular optician to obtain a copy of my prescription and were able to provide contact lenses. I was very pleased and cannot fault the service given. The store was also very clean and presented to a high standard.
