    Jasveena did a very comprehensive eye test and explained everything to me well, and Sophie was brilliant in helping me to choose a style which suited me and my taste, good selection of frames to try and a positive experience overall!

    Extremely dishonest, spiteful and rude! I went to John Lewis in Oxford street in hope of finding right frames. Was helped by a very sweet girl who was wearing hijab. After I picked the frame she explained the prices for very focal lenses and after I picked the frame she calculated cost. It worked out over £700 without insurance As is a lot of money I told her that I will come back the following week with my daughter to make sure I’ve picked right frames for me. I also booked eye test online for £35 When I returned my lovely assistant wasn’t there. I had my eye test and picked another frames which ware £30 more, explained new assistant that I have visited previous week and if we could proceed. I picked the same deal top lens without insurance and she came up with the price of over £200 more. I told her again and showed her photo of previous assistants written calculations. She went quite red in face and started to apologize for misunderstanding insisting previous assistant must have made a mistake. At this point I realized she couldn’t be trusted and got up to leave. Asked if I could pay for eye test and she charged me £45, I pointed out that test was booked at the price of £35 at which she replied oh well is gone up since last week. We went for a coffee next door and I thought to check on their website for price of eye test, sure enough was still advertised for £35. Out of principle went back to confront her end huffing she said she didn’t want to deal with me and called her manager over who told her to process £10 refund without explanation. This manager has witnessed my whole saga from start to finish which makes me think she is the one behind price hike. They tried to steal £200 from me and when it didn’t work they settled for £10. Shame on you both for your misleading dishonest sale tactics!! I am loyal customer of John Lewis and your practice reflects on them. I called them later for my test results from vision express, she said she can’t send them to me until they get signed off. Considering there was no other customer there when I left made me realize she is doing it out of spite and I want be getting them any time soon. I went ahead with my previous eye test results meaning I have wasted £35. Sure Enough they wait until end of the day to send them to me. Shocking!

    Went for an eye test at the Stratford branch. The optician was helpful and professional. However, the issue started when I was about to pay. I had booked the appointment three days earlier, and the confirmed price was £35. At the counter, the lady suddenly told me the price was now £45. I refused to pay the extra amount and showed her the confirmation email, but she didn’t want to hear it. She simply turned around and said the price had changed from today. After around 10 minutes of discussion, she eventually said, “It’s fine for now, you can pay £35.” It’s not really about the money — it’s about the principle and the way customers are treated. Imagine an elderly person being put in that situation.

    From the moment we walked into the salon, we felt truly welcomed and cared for. It was a very positive and heartwarming experience for both me and my son, as we visited together. As a parent of a child with special needs, going to the place like this I feel stressful. The special treatment and understanding shown towards my son meant more to me than I can express. Bożena looked after us with incredible patience, kindness, and genuine care. She took the time to listen, to understand his needs, and to make him feel comfortable and safe. There was no rush, no pressure — just warmth and professionalism. She carefully advised us on the best options for my son and explained everything clearly, which gave me confidence and peace of mind. At the same time, she was equally attentive and helpful with my own choices. Her patience truly seems endless — it must be her second name! The whole team creates such a friendly and supportive atmosphere. You can really feel that they care about their clients, not just professionally, but personally as well. Thank you .

    I recently decided after leaving my long overdue eye test to visit David Clulow in the John Lewis store in Westfield East London. I'm a diabetic and so regularly getting my eyes tested is extremely important to me. ( I do have my eyes screened each year as part of diabetes care) My previous experience with another company had been unbelievable poor and the staff paid very little attention to me and I left feeling very disappointed despite having spent a very large amount of money. My experience with DC could not have been more different. I was greeted with a lovely smile by Sophie and then introduced to the optician Kajal who would be examining my eye health and measuring any deterioration which may have needed urgent attention. Kajal was extremely professional treating me with kindness and support. Answering all my endless questions without making me feel silly. Gentle and quietly spoken she put me at my ease immediately. After my eye examination Sophie then went through all my options. Helping me choose the most appropriate frames given my prescription. Nothing was too much trouble for her! I suffer from rheumatoid arthritis and my mobility is poor having recently had a fall and broken my glasses Sophie understood my needs perfectly. I was also told about an incredible offer which would allow me to have a second pair of glasses which i could use outside as sunglasses!! Something i had never been offered before and i could not have been happier. I returned two weeks later and was looked after this time by Bozena. Again nothing was too much trouble. Everything was explained very carefully and by the time i felt i couldn't wait to tell other people my massively positive experience. I'm so delighted to have at long last found an opticians who really care about their clients. The team I dealt with are the gold standard by which all customers should be dealt with. Please pass on my heartfelt gratitude for all the help and support i received during my recent visit. Robyn Carter
