  AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS!! I should have read the comments before going here. When John Lewis owned the opticians I had the best service I could have asked for. The last time I went here the service was so poor I wrote a complaint to both David Clulow and John Lewis, it has been over a month and neither of them have responded. I was booked in for unnecessary appointments which wasted my time, I then waited over a month for my glasses to come through with 0 communication from the opticians despite numerous calls and going into the store no one seemed to have a clue what was going on. Incredibly disappointed is an understatement.

  Shocking and unacceptable service - Avoid this place!I am extremely disappointed with the service at David Clulow Opticians (John Lewis, Oxford Street). I ordered my glasses here, but the delivery was delayed by a massive 5 weeks without any reason or explanation provided. I had to follow up and visit the store multiple times, which was a huge waste of my time.To make matters worse, when I finally collected my glasses, I discovered that the cleaning cloth was missing from the case. When I went back and asked for a replacement cloth, the staff handed me an empty cardboard box/packet!The lack of communication, massive delays, and outright careless customer service are unacceptable. I would strongly advise everyone to avoid this shop.

  I’ve been a client of David clulow for many years and this is the first time I felt the need to address the inconsistency in expertise, lack of attention to detail and lack of customer service etiquette with some of the staff members in the John Lewis store. It’s been 4 months since my first eye exam and glasses fitting, with two rounds of workshop amends and lenses change, these are STILL wrong!! I really love the frame and had hoped that all this waiting, I can finally take them home, but really shouldn’t have kept my hopes up. Some of the issues they had to fix after being defensive and dismissive in the first instance, only to admit they were wrong after my second check up were - wrong pupil distance (first time they just drew a dot with a marker directly onto my glasses without proper fitting) - wrong arm length (instead of offering me shorter arms in the first instance, front of house staff just bent them with her hands, they ended up wanky) - terrible craftsmanship where one arm was longer than the other. One side of the hinge wasn’t even properly inserted to hold the frame. I opted for Lindberg which is a premium brand and paid nearly 1k for them. But the service I received was not at the level I expected especially for David Clulow. Some advice for the manager of the store - make sure your staff are well trained and actually pay attention and be polite when they are at work. This is the basics of customer service after all. Thank you Anna for actually being empathetic about my situation and bothered to read my file to understand what a frustrating experience this has been for me. She was the only person who actually apologised.
