I'd give this lot half a star if I could. Shocking customer service. Paid over £400 for relensing and was promised my frames would be ready for collection within 7 days. I double checked before proceeding as I fly out of the UK on Saturday. So I popped into branch on the 7th day (Wednesday), only to be told it was not ready. Again I was promised it would definitely be delivered Thursday or Friday. I called up today (Friday), and the frames haven't arrived. I was told over the phone I'd get a call back. Eventually I got a call back midday and was advised my direct debit for contact lenses had bounced back in August. Confused and now more than slightly irritated, I confirmed that I hadn't signed up to a contact lens service, and that I was in fact waiting for a call back regarding my relensed frames. Once again, I was promised they were on the case and that I'd get a call back today. Nothing! I've been attempting to get through on the phone for the past 3 hours now and no answer. I hope someone at head office reads this and takes some action. Not holding my breath. If they're anything like the incompetent staff at Holborn, I have a better chance of seeing 20/20 underwater in the dark. £400+ for relensing and they can't even return a call. Pathetic.
The staff at this optician are really rude. The eye test felt very rushed, and since receiving my new glasses, I’m still struggling to see properly.
I also left a pencil case in the store. When I returned two days later to collect it, a pen was missing. I eventually found it open on a staff member’s desk. When I explained to the lady in the store that it was inappropriate to handle lost property in this way and that my possessions were not for staff to use, she became very defensive, spoke over me and repeatedly claimed that I was accusing her personally of using my belongings. She never apologised and began ignoring me when I tried to clarify that I was not accusing her personally, but rather asking her to pass on the message that staff need a better policy for handling lost property.
Finally, the glasses were not fitted properly. Usually, at Vision Express, I’m invited to sit down at a table while a staff member helps me adjust the fit. However, this lady left me standing at the front desk and didn't seem particularly interested in helping me. My glasses currently feel too tight to wear, but I was too upset by the way she spoke to me to ask her to loosen them again. I will now need to visit a different store for another eye test and to have my glasses loosened. I would avoid this Vision Express and go to the Specsavers across the road. I spent £300 at this store and I completely regret it.
Asked to help with repair of the glasses, get answered by a very fake ‘we don’t have it’.
I had a great experience with Vision Express Holborn, all the staff members were very helpful and caring and considerate. I would recommend them without hesitation
Betty and Almi at Vision Express Holborn provided a 10/10 client care experience.
I came in early for my eye test to ask whether my lenses could be recut to fit a new frame. Although this wasn’t possible, they explained that both my eye and contact lens prescriptions were out of date and kindly tried to fit me in for a contact lens appointment so I could update both and purchase what I needed.
Almi was incredibly kind and gave me spare contact lenses to tide me over while I was without glasses or lenses.
Betty was exceptionally warm and helpful. She offered me a tray while I browsed and helped me find the best combination of purchases to keep costs down. I never felt pressured to buy more - instead, I genuinely felt she had my best interests at heart.
Both Betty and Almi went above and beyond, and I’m very grateful for their kindness and care!
