    Poor service from Hussain and Joseph at cafe. Hussain takes customers orders and then roams around pretending to be busy. Served his friend first then pretends to do something for a bit. Then serves us, then pretends to do something again. Eventually after 10 mins we told one of them that we’re waiting for our drinks they actually make them. First you serve customers and make drinks then you go around and clean the mess in the work station. No queue either to give the reason as to why they’re not making the drinks. Poor organisational skills and also noticed that they’re understaffed due to lounge area having plates and mess everywhere. Also would like to say that the person making the drinks touches the bins without washing hands between. Overall, poor service especially for a premium membership fee.

    ⚠️ WARNING TO ALL MEMBERS: Severe security failure and appalling customer service. On 4th June, while I was inside using the club facilities, my Lexus CT200h had its catalytic converter cut out and stolen in the private David Lloyd member car park. When I spoke to the Club Manager, Fabio, he admitted to me that my vehicle was not an isolated incident—another Lexus CT200h was targeted and hit on the exact same day. These thieves had the time and security freedom to bring jacks and loud industrial power saws onto private property to target multiple cars, completely undetected by any security or staff. For a club that charges premium membership fees, the security monitoring here is entirely inadequate. Worse still is how David Lloyd treats its victims. I have entirely stopped visiting the club since this traumatic and highly disruptive incident occurred. Despite this, management has flatly refused to refund my June membership fee. They are perfectly happy to pocket my money for a month where my car was vandalised on their watch, and where I haven't even stepped foot in the building. I have formally escalated this matter to the Metropolitan Police. If you value your property and expect basic customer care when things go wrong, avoid this club. They only care about your monthly direct debit, not your safety.

    When I first joined David Lloyd at the end of last year, I had a great experience, not too crowded, and everything ran smoothly. But now, it’s become extremely disappointing. The club is overcrowded, there’s no parking, and yesterday I waited 45 minutes for a smoothie. If I hadn’t asked, I wouldn’t have gotten it at all. There was no apology. What was especially hard was that another member told me that the new rules if we are not happy, we should just leave, since they can find new members anyway. It’s really disheartening. Also, the mature lady with dark brown hair at the reception is so stressful and not pleasant at all. I am not sure I will renew my platinum membership. I feel like it’s not longer a premium club but a basic gym club. Clearly they take too many members and dont care about the existing ones !!

    We had a fantastic experience at David Lloyd Sudbury Hill, and a big part of that was thanks to Tom. We arrived without an appointment, but Tom still made time for us and gave us a full tour of the facilities. From the moment we walked in, he was incredibly welcoming, friendly, and genuinely interested in helping us find the right membership. He answered all of our questions, never made us feel rushed, and created such a positive first impression of the club. In fact, a large part of the reason we decided to join was because of how warm and professional Tom was throughout the entire process. A huge thank you to Tom for making us feel so welcome. Highly recommended.

    One star, and that’s generous I booked a tour at David Lloyd Sudbury for 6:00 PM and arrived early at 5:30. I let the front desk (Daniyal) know I was there, and was told someone would be out “momentarily.” Twenty minutes passed. Nothing. I checked in again. Daniyal seemed genuinely surprised no one had come to get me yet, but still made no effort to actually find someone. By 6:15, after waiting 45 minutes for a scheduled tour, I gave up and left. Shortly after I walked out, I got a call from the club. When I tried to explain how poorly the visit had been handled, the person on the other end said “bye” and hung up on me mid-sentence. No apology. No attempt to make it right. The next day, someone named Dillon called. I assumed he was calling to apologise. Instead, he cheerfully asked if I wanted to come in today, as if the previous day hadn’t happened. When I told him no, I wasn’t interested anymore, he said “bye” and hung up. Again, no acknowledgement, no apology, nothing. If this is how David Lloyd Sudbury treats a prospective member who hasn’t even paid them yet, I can only imagine how existing members get treated when something actually goes wrong. The staff was rude, dismissive, and clearly couldn’t care less. Hanging up on a customer twice in 24 hours is a special kind of incompetence. Save your time and your money. There are plenty of gyms and clubs in the area that understand basic customer service. This one clearly doesn’t.
