  I had such a lovely experience touring David Lloyd Purley and had the pleasure of being shown around by Kyle. From the moment we met him, he was absolutely fantastic. He was friendly, welcoming, respectful, and incredibly easy to talk to. Kyle was extremely knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything clearly, answer all of our questions, and made sure both my partner and I felt completely comfortable throughout the tour. His professionalism and genuine, personable approach really stood out and made the whole experience enjoyable rather than feeling like a sales pitch. We were both so impressed with the club and, in particular, with how Kyle looked after us that we ended up signing up there and then! He is a real credit to the David Lloyd Purley team and gave us such a positive first impression of the club. We’re really looking forward to being members.

  I had a fantastic experience touring David Lloyd Purley with Tyler. He was incredibly friendly, professional and welcoming throughout the whole tour, taking the time to show me around and explain everything clearly without making me feel rushed or pressured. Tyler’s knowledge and enthusiasm really stood out, and he made the whole experience enjoyable from start to finish. He answered all my questions and gave me a great feel for what David Lloyd has to offer. A huge thank you to Tyler for such a brilliant tour — he’s a real credit to the team. Highly recommended!

  I recently took a tour of David Lloyd with Liam, and I couldn't have been more impressed. He was welcoming, thoroughly knowledgeable about the facilities, and took the time to understand my specific routine rather than delivering a generic walkthrough. Highlights of the experience: Tailored Walkthrough: He focused on the specific areas I was interested in—from the gym floor and racquets facilities to the spa and lounge spaces—explaining how to get the most out of each. Clear & Honest Answers: Liam answered all my questions regarding peak hours, class bookings, and membership tiers effortlessly. Zero Sales Pressure: The entire tour was relaxed, informative, and genuine, giving me all the info I needed to make an informed choice. If you're considering joining David Lloyd, ask for Liam—he’s a brilliant representative for the club and makes the onboarding process seamless!

  Not overly impressed by a cursory visit. The site was under construction, due to a refurbishment, so felt like a couple of courtesy passes, and a deal on a signing-up fee and discounted 3-month flexible deal to essentially try it out and see if its worth the mammoth fee (compare to practically every other gym in the known universe) was kind of the right approach. Really, do feel like there's a certain amount of gatekeeping going-on, and basically, normal Croydon/Sutton folks are deliberately excluded for corporate clients and those in receipt of private healthcare. It really doesn't serve the community at all. *The normal fee is £85 joining fee, and then £227 per month for the 3-month flexible plus membership, which is basically just access to the pool and gym, and all of this while there's construction going on onsite on until the end of September! It's more than 3x more expensive than the other local private gym (Nuffield in the Colonnades), and they agreed to waive the signing-on fee and gave me 2 free day passes. That's INSANE! See less

  This review is specifically about the children’s swimming lessons at David Lloyd Purley. My children have been taught by Jo and Mo, and I can’t speak highly enough of them both. Jo’s baby swimming lessons are outstanding. She creates such a calm, welcoming and supportive environment, making both babies and parents feel completely at ease. Her patience, encouragement and expertise help build confidence in the water from the very beginning, and it’s clear she genuinely cares about every child she teaches. Mo is an exceptional teacher and is also the Swim Manager. He has a real passion for swimming and for helping children develop their skills and confidence. One of the things that really stands out is his ability to recognise when a child needs a short break or a moment to reset. He knows exactly how to make the lessons fun and engaging before seamlessly bringing the children back to learning, keeping them motivated and focused throughout. My son really looks forward to his lessons with Mo. The lessons are always well structured, enjoyable and tailored to help every child progress at their own pace. It’s wonderful to see how much my children have grown in confidence and ability thanks to Jo and Mo. David Lloyd Purley is incredibly fortunate to have such dedicated, passionate and talented instructors.
