Conveniently located in a peaceful spot just a short walk from Eden Park station, David Lloyd Beckenham is far more than just a gym. Among our modern facilities we’ve got indoor and outdoor tennis courts as well as an outstanding gym, spa and two swimming pools, not to mention hundreds of exercise classes. And with a social scene as lively as our kids’ club, there’s something here for everyone.

Very rude staff, had gone on invitation of a member, was planning to join, the staff did not even listen to us, just said no guests allowed during summer holidays or something of the sort, the name plate was Connor, I would never go back nor would I recommend any self respecting person to

I just wanted to leave a review specifically for Megan at David Lloyd Beckenham because she genuinely deserves the recognition.
We’ve known Megan from her previous positions at David Lloyd and she has always been absolutely amazing. She’s professional, kind, smart, funny and just such a lovely person to be around. You can tell she genuinely cares about the members and takes pride in what she does.
What really stands out about Megan is how personable she is. There have been times when I’ve been feeling a little down and, without me even having to say anything, she’s noticed, checked in and somehow managed to pick me back up. That kind of warmth and emotional intelligence isn’t something you can teach.
She manages to be incredibly professional while still being approachable, genuine and able to have a laugh with you. She remembers people, makes you feel welcome and always goes that extra mile.
Honestly, Megan is just an amazing all-round person and a real asset to David Lloyd Beckenham. She deserves all the praise and recognition. Staff like her are a huge part of what makes people enjoy coming back. ❤️

Only worth the money if you’re focused on the spa or padel and not bothered about the rest of it.
Spa and outdoor pool are nice but exercising isn’t as good as elsewhere - gym classes are always fully booked and the gym floor doesn’t have basic equipment that you can even find in cheap gyms like PureGym. A lot of it is also really old and worn out.
The ‘working space’ is an extension of the cafe. Not suitable for working for long stretches.
They are missing some key ingredients to be a premium club including a lack of cleanliness, smelly showers, low quality shampoo/conditioner in the bathrooms, no power to the hairdryers, hidden extras eg. need to bring your own towel (or pay £2) if you’d like a dry/clean one after the spa / pool or one for your hair. Layout is also not great as you have to walk through the club to get from the outdoor pool to the spa.
Staff are nice and friendly although reception should use their discretion a little bit more. Very strict with the ‘rules’ and makes the whole club feel a little less friendly.

The changing rooms are always dirty. The sauna rooms are endlessly broken with various explanatory notices saying David Lloyd are working hard to fix the facilities - which fits nicely with the regular response of - it will be better in the future. The gym equipment is also often broken. There are always issues with the restaurant - food takes an hour and sometimes you order food and drinks which don’t arrive but you still get charged. Insufficient parking space. Oversubscribed classes meaning it’s a lottery to get the class you want. Significant membership price increases every year for the same crappy experience but no member leaves this David Lloyd because there is no comparable health club in the area.
