  My partner and I joined David Lloyd to start our leisure journey together. He isn’t a huge fan of the gym, so when we realised there were other ways to stay active and motivated here, it felt like the right fit for us. Staff were friendly and helpful on arrival and the facilities are kept very clean; in particular I enjoy the lounge area, a relaxing and social space with a fantastic food and drink offering. We’ve heard there’s a full refurb happening in 2027 which is exciting and we look forward to. The facilities are superb and it’s much bigger than we anticipated, with plenty for us to get involved in. Looking forward to finding our feet here and getting involved in all it has to offer

  Had a welcome tour with Mia today and she has been so attentive, personable and detailed in everything David Lloyd has to offer. She understood our needs with a young family and gave us excellent recommendations. We are excited to get started with your membership!

  EDIT: I emailed the club on Sunday explaining the situation and have still had no response. I’m happy to discuss this directly and would appreciate someone responding to my email. I originally gave David Lloyd 5 stars, but unfortunately I’ve now changed my review following my experience with the Kids Club. I joined believing that my son, who has SEN and is non-verbal, would be able to access the children’s facilities with appropriate support and reasonable adjustments. I was open from the beginning about his additional needs and was told that we could discuss what activities would be suitable for him. Unfortunately, I have found the communication extremely disappointing. The Kids Club leader has made no effort to contact me to discuss my son’s needs, what reasonable adjustments could be made, or which sessions might work best for him. I was initially given a crèche visit to see how he got on and, after hearing nothing further, I paid for another visit myself. I then tried him in a Let’s Play session, believing this would be a suitable play-based activity. Within around 10 minutes I was asked to collect him because he apparently wasn’t cooperating, yet when I arrived he was sitting calmly with the other children. My issue isn't that every activity will necessarily be suitable for my son. I completely understand that some adjustments may be needed. My disappointment is the apparent lack of willingness to communicate with me and actually explore those adjustments. For a company that promotes itself as disability friendly and offers children's facilities, I expected a much more inclusive and proactive approach. Parents of SEN children should be able to know before joining whether their child's needs can genuinely be accommodated. Sadly, based on our experience, I would not recommend the Kids Club to parents of children with additional needs without first getting very clear confirmation about exactly what support and adjustments they are prepared to provide.
