Been visiting the gym for 3 years and honestly appalled at the level of service currently. Especially after paying full platinum prices all through a years worth of renovation and prices went up! There is no clarity on rules/timing or anything anymore. They've extended gym opening hours by an "hour" just to shut the gym 30mins earlier. You only find out when you're at the gym and not in the email they send. It used to shut down 15 min before closing well not anymore. Then guests aren't allowed to visit
The club before 2pm on a bank holiday? How do you find this out? You show up and the rules are made up on the spot. It would be much appreciated if they could circulate this information CLEARLY in the 100s of emails they send. Very disappointing but looks like my time here is up. I paid for the convenience but now it seems rules are ambiguous and made up randomly, access to less clubs, prices are up....
We are a family of six with four children from another club in the UK. When arriving to dartford DL we were tired after a long drive from Spain. We thought we would pop into this club for a reset and was warmly welcomed by a wonderful receptionist called Elizabeth. She was warm, welcoming and delivered excellent customer service. A great asset to the club.

Deeply disappointing experience regarding member support during a personal tragedy.
Following the passing of my father, I was unable to use the club for two months while handling family matters and grieving. When I reached out to discuss a retrospective freeze or refund for those missed months, I was met with rigid refusals.
Even after formally escalating Case Ref 3935664 to the General Manager, their response explicitly acknowledged that my circumstances were "exceptional," yet they still refused to offer any flexibility or compassionate override. Front-line staff also failed to advise me that pausing a membership was an option when my attendance stopped.
To acknowledge a parental bereavement as exceptional circumstances while simultaneously refusing any human empathy or flexibility is a terrible reflection of David Lloyd’s values. I expected far better customer care from a premium club.

Been a David Lloyd member for over two years, but today really made me question what we’re paying premium prices for.
Padel courts are already almost impossible to book, so I grabbed a last-minute slot on a Tuesday afternoon and arranged three members plus one guest, who drove nearly two hours to play. We explained at reception that the guest was only there for one hour of padel and we’d happily pay the guest fee and leave straight afterwards.
Absolutely no flexibility. The receptionist was rude and dismissive and wouldn’t even involve a manager.
Meanwhile, half the car park was empty. What exactly was so “exclusive” about the club on a quiet Tuesday afternoon that one paying member couldn’t bring a guest for a one-hour court booking?
We left and paid to play elsewhere.
Premium membership prices should come with premium customer service and some common sense. Very disappointing after two years as a member.
Always a good experience. Love the atmosphere, adequate facilities, parking does tend to get full but I go either early or later in the day, so works for me. Plenty of classes to choose from. The app also has workout libraries. You can make custom workouts as well with the app. Overall, it is expensive but I personally would say its worth every penny!
