  Very disappointing and inconsistent treatment at David Lloyd Hatfield today I have been a David Lloyd member for around a year and have used Social Passes many times. I have never previously had any issues entering the club, even when I arrived somewhat earlier than the time shown on the pass. Today, I booked two Social Passes for my partner and a friend. Both passes showed “From 14:00” in the app. We arrived around lunchtime while my daughter attended a 25-minute tennis trial. When we first arrived, a member of Reception checked my Social Pass and allowed my partner to enter. I then briefly left to collect my friend. When I returned, a different member of staff suddenly told me that my friend could not enter because it was before 14:00. I explained that my partner was already inside, my daughter was attending her tennis class, and we were simply planning to have some food and drinks before leaving shortly afterwards. However, I was told I had to use another Guest Pass. The most confusing part was that the Guest Pass I was told to use also showed “From 14:00” in the app. When I pointed this out, I was told that the staff member would “sort it out on the system”. I was then also told to use another Guest Pass for my partner, even though he had already been admitted by another member of staff. As a result, I ended up using two Social Passes and two additional Guest Passes simply for a short Clubroom visit. I understand that David Lloyd may have rules regarding guest pass times, and I am happy to follow reasonable rules. My issue is the inconsistent and contradictory way they were enforced today, particularly given that I have used Social Passes many times over the past year without ever experiencing anything like this. I also felt that I was treated differently and unfairly, and I am concerned that the way I was treated may have been discriminatory. This was a very disappointing experience, particularly because the situation could have been handled simply and professionally.

  It’s been such a challenge trying to get a resolution to a membership issue I started a month ago. The membership price is not justified against the value of poor customer service.

  SIMPLY THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE David Lloyds customer service is simply the worst! We’re experiencing an ongoing issue whereby we need to downgrade from a Platinum Couples membership due to pregnancy. After making contact early last month, we got mixed responses and delayed messages from different support staff. The final person we spoke to, Luca, ensured the membership would be amended before the next payment was taken… lo and behold, we’ve been charged the full amount and back to square one. I’ll be demanding a refund from David Lloyd’s before changing my opinion. Intentionally difficult and useless support processes from an unethical company.

  My mum and I signed up today after a wonderful tour from Sarah. She showed us around the whole club and answered all of our questions. She was extremely personable and never made us feel under pressure to join. She sat in the club room with us for a long time going through all of the options and knew the answer to every question we asked. Couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to David Lloyd Hatfield and we are very excited to start. The facilities themselves look fabulous but Sarah made us sure we wanted to join.
