Set in a striking Grade-II-listed aircraft hangar, David Lloyd Hatfield is much more than a gym. With high-quality racquets, fitness and spa facilities, plus a social scene as lively as our kids' club, there's something here for everyone, from early-morning swim to post-work dinner.
NO INDOOR BABY SWIMMING POOL
DL markets itself as a family club, yet there is no dedicated indoor baby or toddler swimming pool. That is a major gap and oversight.
For a parent on maternity leave, or a single parent taking a baby swimming alone, the reality is simple: you cannot safely or practically take a baby into a large adult pool. There is no appropriate alternative provided.
The outdoor pool is not a solution for most of the year in the UK, especially with a baby.
For a club that positions itself so strongly around families, this makes one of the most basic family activities baby swimming effectively impossible. Very disappointing

Whilst this is a nice gym - if you can just go to the gym and leave fine.
The operations and management is shambolic and unacceptable for the amount of money we pay. I’ve had issues with their online payment since joining, and have had to navigate this almost every month, with a new born I just don’t have the mental space for it. We then have had harassing emails from a debt collector! Despite 1. Not being in arrears 2. Multiple evidence of online payments 3. Literally no one responds to emails
Icing on the cake, went to reformer class (which I can pay in the app) and the teacher didn’t show up, 20 mins waiting outside the door until
I went and asked someone to contact reception- I paid for a babysitter and took 20min drive there, only to be offered a hot drink and refund (which ive seen no sight of) - the lady said the Program manager would email- as usual nothing.
Im just confused what they are so busy doing? Surely customer service and timely communication should be up there, we pay £300+ a month. We are extremely fed up

5/5 Stars - One of the nicest David Lloyd clubs I've visited around the UK. Set in a historic aircraft hangar affords the club lots of spacious facilities and amenities.

David Lloyd at Hatfield has been one of the worst gyms I have ever been to in my whole life of owning a gym membership Iv never dealt with such rude inappropriate staff there! I was attacked in the changing room and then suspended over it for 2 weeks after trying to break up a fight in the changing room I had to Chase a refund on my membership with no help from the manager never got an apology of them over it! Then I was rudely met another time by a very rude receptionist over a towel I let that go never complained and kept paying the £500 a month , then I was met by another member of staff at the gym again over my outfit because I had a bakini top with shorts in the restaurant I was told after waiting for 20 mins for a takeaway that was told was there waiting for me when I asked her for the 3rd time where my takeaway was she proceeded to keep ignoring me and asking me to wait to ask me inappropriately infront of 10 people to put a top on after I was out the out door pool with my daughter just trying to get my food order and was rushing to get back to the kid I soon realised I didn’t have a appropriate attire for her and explained I had it in the locker room I felt so embarrassed and humiliated as there was so many people in the same position as me and I felt very singled out after making a complaint the manager had no resolution for me! I very happily explained what had happened and they decided to suspend me again after another altercation with staff that I had to complain about this time I will not be spoken down to or singled out for asking where my takeaway away was !! Personally I would save your money there racist because they had no problem with any one else’s clothes but mine I also when parking in disabled was chased down by a member of staff and told I was disabled and couldn’t park there but showed him my disabling badge and was apologised to but again this is a £500 a month gym membership to be treated like garbage but the staff members and the manager has no clue what he’s doing the car park is a absolute joke! I went in with my partner to check my membership they told me it was all fine! Then I got a phone call 10 mins later to tell me I can’t go back for further investigation I would rather never step foot in a David Lloyd gym again then give the £1 of my money!! The whole gym is a scam dirty and needs a update so Iv left a review to share my experience there because some one needs to!!

Unfortunately not satisfied at all as a family member. Loads of activities are not available for kids under 6years old. The DL clubs are honestly so boring and my daughter doesnt like to go. So as a mun I am totally stuck. Even if your child is under 8 years old is not allowed in kids pool by itself. This is so disappointing. So don’t waste your money if you are a mun. Thanks
