  Front desk staff are usually very good, but pharmacist appointments are consistently running late with no apology. On my latest visit, I was made to feel rushed and like a burden. I was also concerned when the pharmacist sneezed into their hand before calling in the next patient after me. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be returning here for vaccinations.

  I don't like leaving negative reviews but after using this pharmacy for a few years, I don't think I've had a single positive experience. Wait times are extremely long, often upwards of 30 minutes and staff always seem quite disinterested and most times never acknowledged I was there waiting. I also regularly had issues getting my prescriptions at all as they often had stock issues. It was also impossible to speak to them on the phone as it was never answered. I've now swapped to a different pharmacy who couldn't be more different, so this does seem to just be an issue with Tesco.

  Staff need re-training. I attended early to collect my regular propranolol, which I take for physical symptoms associated with anxiety and which affects my heart rate and blood pressure. I had run out and had specifically explained that I needed the medication urgently. The prescription had been sent to the pharmacy two days earlier, but it had apparently been overlooked and hadn't been processed. When I first reached the counter, I was told there was nothing on the system for my new prescription. I had to provide the barcode from my NHS App before staff were able to locate it, at which point they eventually found the prescription. This was particularly frustrating because the prescription had already been sent to the pharmacy two days previously. It felt as though the problem was initially being presented as something I had failed to do, when in fact the prescription had simply been overlooked by the pharmacy. I was then told to wait approximately 30 minutes. I worked around this and returned after the half hour, only to have to queue for another approximately 20 minutes before reaching the counter. I was then told that the medication was waiting for the head pharmacist's signature and that I needed to sit and wait again. I ended up spending approximately an hour and a half simply trying to obtain medication that had already been prescribed and received by the pharmacy two days earlier. This isn't an insignificant medication to simply be left without. Abruptly stopping propranolol can cause rebound effects, including a significant increase in heart rate and blood pressure, and in some circumstances can cause serious cardiovascular complications. I had specifically explained that I had run out, so I expected the situation to be treated with appropriate urgency. I appreciate that pharmacists are extremely busy and that vaccinations and other services are important. However, that does not change the fact that my prescription had been received two days earlier and could have been processed before I arrived. The resulting delay was avoidable. The experience was particularly distressing because I have involuntary motor and vocal tics which become considerably worse when I am stressed and overstimulated. I was left sitting in a crowded pharmacy for a prolonged period, visibly ticcing and vocalising while waiting, with a queue of people directly in front of me. As the wait continued, my distress and symptoms became worse. Eventually I became so overwhelmed that I was sitting there crying Infront of all of these people. I don't expect special treatment, but I do expect a reasonable level of organisation, communication and consideration, PARTICULARLY when a patient has run out of regular heart/blood-pressure medication and the prescription has been sitting there for two days. I hope the pharmacy reviews what happened, particularly how prescriptions received electronically are processed and how patients who have run out of important regular medication are dealt with.

  What an appalling pharmacy. Shockingly inadequate service. Miserable , unenthusiastic staff who don’t seem to know what they’re doing . Won’t be using again !
