  Jodie and Nathan have really supported me to feel confident in the gym and I have really valued their support joining David Lloyd. I would recommend them both when signing up if you want to have a great experience and feel comfortable starting up!

  ​I have really been enjoying my first week at the David Lloyd club in Colchester. We had a wonderful induction with Jodie, who took the time to go through everything the club has to offer. She was more than happy to answer all of our questions, making the entire sign-up process incredibly comfortable, easy, and reassuring. I truly appreciate how informative and welcoming she was. ​The facility itself is fantastic; the gym, equipment, and studios are all top-tier and a pleasure to use. The pool and spa areas are delightful, and so far, they have been consistently clean and tidy. On top of that, every member of staff we've encountered has been polite, kind, and incredibly helpful.

  NATHAN IS AMAZING!!!!Had an amazing tour of the facilities and gym today with Nathan, i have lost my way in the fitness world, but Nathan was absolutely fantastic, really helped me and my husband in answering our questions, and the people there were all very friendly, both gym users and the staff. I really am looking forward to going, Nathan is an absolute credit to his profession and the David Lloyd team.

  Been a member for nearly 2 years and now feel qualified to review the restaurant. After much deliberation, I would say that the restaurant is possibly the worst restaurant in Essex. I actively avoid trying to eat there but sometimes I cave after one of the children swimming lessons in the hope that it might have changed. It never does. If you order a dish, please do not under any circumstances expect the ingredients that are listed on the menu, to be the ingredients you receive. You’ll get 2/3 of them and then have to ask for the missing items. Also please also do not expect there to be anybody available to rectify this should you wish to receive said missing ingredients. The people that bring the food out have literally zero interest in what they bring out which is a the root of the poor customer experience. There is also a clear misunderstanding between the people that decide what is on the menu and the people that cook the food. The “chefs” can’t have ever heard of a Poké bowl or some kind of Singapore noodle dish and make it up based on what they think those dishes might be. A packet of Asda Rice with some John West tuna on top and hay Presto! you have a poke bowl! Grim. If they employed a restaurant manager most of these problems could be rectified- there is just zero care or accountability for bad food. I’ve never felt the need to leave a negative review before but this place is a joke. I don’t suppose it will ever change which is a shame because it could be quite good if someone just cared.
