I went to Specsavers for an eye test, and later that same day I received a phone call asking me to return because they had spotted something suspicious and wanted a more experienced colleague to take another look to make sure everything was okay. I really appreciated how thorough they were. I felt genuinely well looked after and reassured by the level of care I received. Clean and cozy environment too. Highly recommended.

Sorry to say that I could not get on with my vari focals as the reading section seems to low and I have to physically move them upwards to read. I have since bought a pair of readers which I use for computer and reading

The hearing test specialist (Lisa - Workington) was very friendly but professional always explaining in lay-man terms the tests to be carried out which made put at ease. I would definitely recommend SpecSavers for hearing care and products.

I was seen by Ian. Thanks to his sharp clinical skills he has quite probably saved my vision, but not only that, he has also significantly reduced my risk of having a stroke. The day before my appointment I experienced a near total loss of vision in my left eye for 5-10 minutes which then resolved completely. I was told by a hospital eye specialist that they had no concerns about this because I'm in my 40s. The following day Ian assessed me. He told me he was concerned my vision loss may have been 'Amaurosis Fugax', also known as a 'TIA of the eye' which can be a warning sign for a future stroke. Ian urgently referred me to the opthalmology team, and thanks to him I've now been assessed, referred to the stroke team, and put on aspirin to manage my stroke risk. I am so incredibly grateful to Ian for trusting his own clinical judgement and treating my situation with the urgency required.
